Description
(N0 ModeL) S. DANUYG'ER.
PIN.
4 3515. 6mm; QB Mk7 UNITE STATES PATENT OFFICE,
SIMON DANOYGER, OF DAYTON, OHIO.
SPEGIFIGATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 522,290, dated July 3, 1894. Application tiled October 2, 1893. Serial'No. 486,932- (No model.)
To 0; whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIMON DANCYGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented a certain'newand useful Improvement in Pins; and I do hereby declare that the followingis a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the figures of reference marked thereon, which forms a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in pins, the feature of which will-be fully hereinafter described and claimed.
The object of my improvementis the construction of a pin from a single piece of wire with an enlarged ornamental head, which when used to unite coarse fabrics, the head will not pass through and be lost in the goods, as is frequently the case with the ordinary pin.
The construction is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which there is but one figure, and that a side view.
The numerals designate the several parts of the pin.
The pin is formed of a single piece of wire comprising the curve 1 and with the adjacent loops 2,2 on a plane, to form the head, bends 3 3 over the central portion of said head, and the end 4 terminating abruptly and the end 5 extending sufficiently to form a suitable pointed shaft which is in line with the plane of the head, and adapted to enter and bind fabrics. It is used the same as the ordinary dress pin, and has the advantage, that the head is not liable to pass through the fabric; and is well adapted ,to pin together coarse mercantile fabrics.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by'Letters Patent, is-
As an improved article of manufacture the pin formed of a single piece of wire having the bend and two circular loops on aplane adjacent to form the head, bends over the central portion with the. two ends abutting, one terminating abruptly and the other projecting to form the shaft and in line with the plane of the head and adapted to penetrate a fabric, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SIMON DAN OYGER.
