TO' ALL WHOM IT MAY GONCERN: v
Be it known that I, SAMUEL B. FAY, of Frnnklin, in the county of Venango, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and improved Ticket Fastener; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, lreference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters ot' reference marked thereon, forming a part oi this speciication.
The nature of in'y invention consists in providing a loop made of wire for the purpose of holding tag-s or tickets to ne fabrics to supply-the place of pins, which have heretofore been used for that purpose, and which injure'the fabrics to n. greater or less extent by perforations. By my invention this injurious mode of securing tags or tickets is obviated by, making a loop or clasp of 4wire that springs over ,the surface of the ticket and'goods, holding the ticket iirniI to the goods. My invention is especially adapted to securing tickets to silks, lace, and all the finer class of goods, without injury or leaving the slightest trace upon the goods when removed.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.

Figure II is a transverse section of a piece oflgoods, showing a larger tag or ticket secured by the fastener.

A represents a piece of goods or fabric of a ne quality, or it may represent paper.'4 B represents any number'of' tickets of dilerent sizes, m'ade of paper or other suitable material used for memoranda of various kinds upon the finer fabrics or class of goods on which it would 1ne injurious to secure the tickets by means of pins invconsequence of perforations. To remedy and obviate this injury to this class of goods, take steel or other suitable wirc and bend it round so as to form a loop at one end, or a bifurcated bar, the legs of which are then twisted or turned to` cross eachother, thus forming a spring clasp, as shown at D, which will hold the ticket and fabric firmly together.
