Be it known that I, JOSEPH W.W1GNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wabash, in the county of Wabash and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door-Closers and Alarms, of which the following is a specification.

With this Object in view the invention consists in the improved construction, arrangement, and combination of parts hereinafter fully described and afterward specifically pointed Ontjn the claim. ,Y

Referring to the drawing by letters, A indicates a door-frarne, and B a screen-door hinged thereto. C indicates a bracket secured to the upper edge of the door near its outer side, having a horizontal arm C at right angles to the face of the door and an upright arm C in the same plane as arm C and at right angles thereto. t .A cord D, secured to arm C", leads around a pulley E, jonrnaled on the door-frame A, thence along the door-frame and around a pulley F, and nallydownward and carrying a Weight Gr at its lower end arranged to slide in a tubular casing H, secured to the frame. crank-pin I projects from the pulley F, to which is attached a spring-arm J, which passes upthrough an opening in an angular Serial No. 'l2,608. Y(No modell) bracket K, secured to the frame, and carries yat its upper end a bell L.

When the door 1s Opened, the cord will rO- tate the pulleys, and the pulley F, with its crank-pin, will Oscillate the arm J and ring the bell L, and the Weight G Will draw the cord back, closing the door, rotating the pulleys in the Opposite direction, and continu-v ing the ringing of the bell.

From the foregoing it will be apparent that I have provided simple, ineXpensi-ve,and ef- Or opened it will rotate a pulley, and the rotation of the pulley will cause the sounding of an alarm.

It will be understood by those skilled in the `icient means whereby When a door is closed the pulley, and a weight on the cord, of a crank-pin on the pulley and a spring bell ringing arm pivoted on the crank-pin, substantially as described.
