SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 620,662, dated March 7, 1899. Application filed February 8, 1898. Renewed J annary 5, 1899. Serial No. 701,284. (No model.)
T0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN R. MORRIS, va citizen of the United States, residing at Jewell City, in the county of Jewell and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pliers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The invention relates to pliers; and the object is to simplify the construction and to provide an inexpensive tool of this character that may be used for various purposes.
With this object in view the invention consists in certain features of construction and combination of parts, which will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawingI have illustrated my invention in side elevation.
A A denote the heads of the tool, the head A being formed with the wrench-jaws l and 2 and the head A being formed with the coacting wrench-jaws 3 and 4. The jaws l and 4 are farther apart than the jaws 2 and 3, thereby enabling the tool to be applied to nuts of dierent sizes. Each head is also formed with a pincer-jaw 5, and these jaws are provided with a pipe or bolt holder 6. Below the bolt or pipe holder the jaws 5 5 are formed with a wire-cutter 7. y

A tool thus constructed is simple and ineX pensive and will be found to be a valuable accessory to the tool-kit of a mechanic, owing to its wide range of adaptation.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A pair of pliers comprising the head A formed with the integral oppositely-disposed lateral jaws l and 2, the integral longitudi= nal jaw 5 arranged at a right angle intermediate said lateral jaws, and the integral longitudinal handle 8, in combination with the counterpart head A pivoted to the opposite member and formed with the integral oppositely-disposed lateral jaws 3 and 4, the in= tegral longitudinal jaw 5 arranged at a right angle intermediate said lateral jaws, and the integral longitudinal handle 8, substantially as shown and described.
