which maybe used with a bicycle and which will permit the wearer to conveniently respond to the callspf nature.

My invention will be understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a front view of the garment, a

portion of the skirt being broken away to show the interior construction of the garment. Fig. 2 is a rear view of the garment having the flap of the skirt partly unbuttoned, exposing the trousers, with a flap of the skirt turned back to exhibit the interior construc- Fig. 3 is a side view of the trousers forming part of the garment, the skirt being shown in dotted lines. Fig. 4 is a top or plan view of the garment. Fig. 5 is anenlarged detail section taken on line 5 5 of Fig. 4; and Fig. 6 is an enlarged detail section of the top band of the garment, taken on line 6 6 of Fig. 4.

The garment illustrated in the drawings consists of a skirt open at the back and havin g side openings provided with fastening devices for fastening them together, and a pair of trousers open at the sides at places corresponding to the side openings of the skirt, and also provided with fastening devices to fasten the edges of the sides together, the said trousers being permanently secured to the top of the front of the skirt and connected to the top of the rear of the skirt by a temporary fastener.

In the drawings, A is a skirt which is divided at the rear for a portion only of its height to form a plurality of flaps a. Instead of opening in the rear by a placket this skirt has a plurality of plackets or flies at the sides, whose edges 1) Z) Z) are provided with fastening devices 0 for fastening them together, whereby the top of the back of the skirt con stitutes a barn-door flap. Located inside the skirt is a pair of trousers B, permanently scoured to the top of the skirt along the front edge thereof, preferably by turning over the top edge a of the skirt and inserting the top edge I) of the trousers Bin the fold thus formed and thereupon stitching the parts in place by rows of stitches 19 The trousers open at the sides by side plackets or flies 19 which flies or plackets are adjacent to the flies or plackets in the sides of the skirt and are provided with suitable fastening devices 0 for fastening the edges together. The rear of the trousers is unconnected to the skirt, except as hereinafter described, and the said rear or side portion constitutes what is known as a barn-door flap C. At or near the middle upper portion of this barn-door flap is a button or other fastener b, with which a loop if, carried on the inner face of the rear portion of the skirt, engages when the flap is up.

The operation of the device will be obvious from the drawings, it being merely stated here that thebarmdgor flap of the trousers may be drdpped by reaching i'ntotheopening dividing therear portions of the skirt and releasing the fastening devices thereof, so as to let down the barn-door flap of the trousers without letting down the barn-door flap of the skirt. Thus the divided portion of the skirt will enable the wearer to restate to the callsof nature without removing the skirt.

\Vhat Iclaiin, and desireto secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a bicycle costume, the combination of a skirt slit or divided at the back thereof for a portion only of its height and provided with side plackets or flies at the top thereof whereby the top of the back of the skirt c011- stitutes a barn-door flap, a pair of trousers permanently secured by their upper front edge to the upper front edge of the skirt and provided with side plackets or flies whereby the rear of the trousers is formed into a barndoor flap, the said rear being free to be flapped down independently of the adjustment of the skirt when the barn-door flap of the skirt is buttoned in place, whereby the said barndoor flap may be lowered into proximity with the open part of the divided skirt.

2. In a bicycle costume, the combination of a skirt divided at the back and provided with side plackets or flies at the-top thereof whereby the top of the back of the skirt con- 1 rily secure the top of the back of the skirt to stitutes a barn-door flap, a pair of trousers permanently secured by their upper front edge to the upper front edge of the skirt and provided with side plaekets 0r flies whereby the rear of the trousers is formed into a barndoor flap, the said rear being free to be flapped down independently of the adjustment of the skirt, and a temporary fastening device at the top of the barn-door flap Of the trousers, whereby the said barn-door flap maybe 10W- ered into proximity With the open part of the divided skirt when the barn-door flap of the skirt is buttoned into place.
