CONVERTIBLE GARMENT.
Application filed January 13, 1921.
To all whom it may con 0cm Be it known that I, Invme lVrrnnLen, a citizen of the United States, and a residentof the city of New York, borough oi Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Convertible Garment, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

Another object is to permit of conveniently opening the garment at the rear for sanitary purposes.
Another object is to provide a garment exceedingly neat in appearance when worn in either of its two forms.
lVith these and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction as hereinafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in the claims.
A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of the improved. convertible garment worn as a combined dress and bloomers, part of the skirt and belt being shown open;
Figure 2 is a rear perspective view of the same with part of the skirt, part of the sanitary flap and the belt in open position;
Figure 3 is a front perspective view of the garment worn as a combined waist and bloomers;
Figure 4 is a rear DQFSPGPHXO view of L16 same;
Figure 5 is a similar view of the improved convertible garment worn as a dress and bloomers with part of the belt and the skirt in open position;
Fi ure 6 is an enlarged sectional plan view of the convertible garment, the section being on the line :6,6 of Figure 1; and
Figure 7 is an enlarged cross section of the joint at the front of the waist and bloomers, the section being on the line 7-7 of Figure 3.
The convertible garment in its general construction comprises a. skirt 10 and combined Serial No. 436,951.
bloomers 11 and waist 12. The Waist 12 is provided vith sleeves 13 and is adapted to be opened. and closed at the back, as inclicated at lei in Figures 2, at and 5. The bloomers 11 are provided at the back with a sanitary flap 15 adapted to be closed at the sides by suitable fastening devices 16 such as snap fasteners, and the waist 12 is provided along the waistline with three spaced t'ront buttons 20 and three spaced back buttons 21, of which the latter are adapted to be engaged by buttonholes 22 arranged on the upper end of the sanitary flap 15. The several buttons 20 and 21 are adapted. to be engaged by corresponding buttonholes 23 and 24 arranged on the waistband of the skirt 10. The skirt 10 is provided, slightly at the front of one side (preferably the left-hand side, see Figures 2 and 5), with a placket having overlapping flaps 31 and 32 provided with a registering pair of rear buttonholes 2% adapted to engage the same rear button 21, on one side of the back or the waist 12 and used for fastening the corresponding side of the sanitary flap 15 in closed position. The sides of the skirt are provided with pockets and 41, of which the pocket 40 encloses and conceals the placket 30 at the time the parts are in closed position with. the skirt supported from the waist 1.2.
