DEVICE FOR REMOVING WRINKLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 550,492, dated November 26, 1895.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ELISABETH ENT, a citi= zen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Devices for Removing Wrinkles and Hanging Cheeks and Chins of the Human Face, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings.
My invention consists of a device for removing wrinkles and raising hanging cheeks and chins of the human face.
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a skin-stretching device embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents a section thereof on line 00 00, Fig. 1. Fig. 3 represents human heads without and with the device.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.
Referring to the drawings, A designates bows or arms, which are provided at one end with the jaws B, faced with pads C, of soft rubber'or other material of a frictional and yielding character. The ends of the bows opposite to the jaws are passed through the box or support D and formed with racks E, with which meshes the pinion F, whose shaft has its bearings on said box D and which is provided with the milled head G for operating purposes, it being evident that when the pinion .is rotated the bows are moved in and out, so that the jaws are drawn backward or pushed outwardly. In order to prevent rotation of the bows in the box, the wall of the latter is formed with slots H, which freely receive the pins J, which project from said bows.
the ears, after which, when the bows are let go, the pads press against the skin and take hold of the same. The pinion is then operated, whereby the bows are drawn backward, and as the pads follow the same the skin is drawn upwardly and rearwardly, so that the skin is stretched and any wrinkles and hanging cheeks and chins on the face are removed.
When the pinion is rotated in reverse direction, the jaws are advanced, whereby the skin is released and the device may be retherein and means on said bows and support for moving said jaws in opposite directions, said jaws having facing pads. thereon, the parts named being combined substantially as set forth.
2. A device for the purpose described, consisting of pressure jaws with facings therein, I
arms carrying said jaws, a support for said arms, racks on said arms, and a pinion on the support adapted to engage with said racks, substantially as set forth.
3. A device for the purpose described, consisting of pressure jaws, bows connected with said jaws, and having racks thereon, a box forming bearings for said bows, a pinion mounted in said box and engaging said racks and pins on said bows, engaging the wall of said box, said parts being combined substantially as described.
