The nature ot' my invention consists in a new device for fastening or supporting sash.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
Figure l represents aperspective view of the sash-fastener from the back. Fig. i! represents a side view, the lower part being a sectional view through center of the catch.
a represents the plate, which is fastened to the casing ot' the window-frame by screws passed through the oritices o o.
c is a support for the lever b, whichis held by a pin for its fulcrum.
d is a projection from the plate a, which supports, on an inner surface, the catch e, and has 'a pin, oz, which holds the spiral spring swithin the oritice of the catch. This projection has a groove in its upper surface for the passage of the projection e' of' the catch.
e is a catch, which moves freely through the plate, and is kept in position to hold the sash by the coiled spring.' This catch is grooved on either side for the pin n, and has a projection, e', against which the lever bears to move the catch. By depressing the lever the catch is thrown back and the sash released.
Having thus full7 described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent is- Ihe arrangement ot' the plate a, the lever b, the catch e, substantially as described.
