77/50. 19. 07. Bfil/EL'AWER INVENTOH WITNESSES:
ATTORNEY.
NITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THEODORE A. M. BRUEOKNER, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.
FLORAL STAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 516,259, dated March 13,1894.
Application filed November 2'7 1893. Serial No.492,047. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern: r
Be itknown that I, THEODORE A. M. BRUEOK- NER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Floral Stands; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in theart to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to floral stands and devices of similar character and has for its object to provide a simple and cheap device.
To this end and to such others as the in vention may subserve, the same consists in the peculiar construction and arrangement of parts, which will be more fully hereinafter described, shown in the accompanying drawings and specification, and defined in the'appended claims.
The invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this specification like letters of reference indicating the same parts throughout the several views in which- Figure 1 is a front view. Fig. 2 is a side view. Fig. 3 is an inverted plan, and Fig. 4. shows the style of perforations on the bottom piece A and top pieces D and E.
A designates the I bottom of the stand and is made of a piece of fiat sheet metal bent circular in form, and has the perforations J as shown in Fig. 4.
K is a circular ring of wire and is connected to the bottom piece, by means of a series of wire braces B, which are bent around ring K at the top and hooked in the perforations in A on the bottom.
I and H are wire braces to strengthen the bottom, and are wired together at M where they cross each other.
D represents the outside casing at the top, and E the inside casing and are perforated as shown in Fig. 4. D and E are connected together by means of the wire braces F.
The upper part of the stand is connected to the base by means of the three prongs a b and c, which are secured to the base and pass upward on the inside of the ring K, and at the point it, the wires aand c are coiled around the wire b several times, at the point Z the wires aand b branch to the left and follow the line of the outside of the piece E, and are there secured, the wire obranches OE and follows the outside of the piece E on the right, and is secured thereto. g
The top of the stand can be made in any design desired without departing from the nature and spirit of the invention.
' Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
I. As a new article of manufacture, afloral stand consisting of a base composed of the perforated piece A ring K connected to A by means of a series of braces B; the top design composed of the perforated pieces D and E connected by the braces F in the rear; the three prongs or legs secured to the base and passing upwardly on the inside of the ring K, the prongs a and a wound spirally around the prong 1), beginning at h and ending at Z, a and b, branching to the left and c to the. right and secured to the piece E; all arranged substantially as shown and described.
2. As a new article of manufacture afloral stand consisting of a conical shaped wire base, with the lower rim made of sheet metal perforated, three prongs connected to the base and projecting upwardly and inwardly, wound around each other several times and then extending outwardly and upwardly and secured to a suitable design, substantially, as described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in ()0 presence of two witnesses.
THEO. A. M. BRUEOKNER.
