LEG-STRAIGHTENING DEVICE.
QPEGIFIGATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 507,775, dated October 31, 1893.
Application filed December 17, 1892- Serial No. 455,476. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern..-
Be it known that I, HEINRICH BAYER, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and a resident of Hamburg, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Instruments for Straightening Misshaped Legs, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved device for covering and concealing misshapen or deformed limbs, in such manner as not to be inconvenient for the wearer.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved device for covering and concealing deformed limbs, with single cushions. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the same, with double cushions. Figs. 3 and 4 show the two constructions of the device as applied to the body.

To the waist-band or belt fithe upper ends of suspending straps d are fastened and from said straps flexible webs w carrying single cushions a, b, as shown in Fig. 1, or double cushions as shown in Fig. 2 are suspended, which cushions are provided with fastening indicate correstraps c for holding them snugly and firmly on the limbs. The said cushions are filled with down and are preferably stitched at their edges to the webs w. The belt F is fastened around the waist and the straps d adjusted shorter or longer to hold the cushion at the proper place on the limbs, and said cushions are then secured by means of the strap 0. The cushions are not displaced by bending the body or limbs.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The combination of a waist band or belt, straps attached thereto, flexible webs suspended from said straps, cushions disposed on said webs on opposite sides of the knee joint, and straps for binding the cushions to the thigh and leg respectively, said flexible web permitting the free bending of the knee joint, substantially as set forth.
