DRUG-MIXER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 497,045, dated May 9, 1893.
Application filed July so, 1892.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY WILLIAM BAR- KER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Elbow Lake, in the county of Grant and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and usefulImprovementsin Drug-Mixers; andIdo declare the following to be a full, clear, and ex- I act description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in drug mixers, and although it is especially adapted for this purpose it may be used for other purposes if desired.
The object of my invention is the provision of an extremely simple, durable and efficient device of this character, and it consists of a device constructed substantially as illustrated, described and specifically claimed.
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of the device with one side broken away to more clearly show the details of the device, and Fig. 2 represents a sectional view of a modified form of the device.

sel is provided with a socket F in which is mounted the shaft G, having the upper cranked end H provided with a handle J. To the shaft is fixed or formed the mixer K which consists of the horizontal part L, the two side pieces L the short uprights L and the inclined upper pieces L. In the modified form the side pieces are made in the form of a screw which has the effect of more thor oughly mixing the material as will be understood.
The device makes an eficient drug mixer but it may also be used for popping corn, roasting coffee or for any other purpose where it would serve effectively, and by reason of its extreme simplicity, cheapness and efiectiveness it should prove useful.
I claim as my invention- The herein described device, consisting of the vessel having the central rib, the covers hinged to said rib, the socket in the base of the vessel, the shaft mounted in the socket and central rib and having the handle, and the stirrer or agitator carried by the shaft and comprising the horizontal part, the side pieces the short uprights or lugs and the inclined pieces, all arranged as shown and described.
