SPEGIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 493,804, dated March 21, 1893. Application-filed June 4, 1892. Serial No. 435,540. (No model.)

Beit known that I, GEORGE I'I. WRIGHT, of Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga, in the State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements iu Milk-Cans, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a full, clear, and exact description.

My invention relates to storing vessels for liquids and particularly to milk cans.

My object is to produce a milk can so arranged and constructed as to permit of its being used in delivering milk, with a narrow or contracted neck at the top, and at the same time constructing it in sections so that it may be readily taken apart and thoroughly cleansed.

I have found by practice that Where milk cans are provided with a narrow, contracted neck or mouth, it is almost impossible to remove all of the milk from that part of the can Where the contraction begins. And to that end my object consists in constructing the can body in two parts, adapted to be separated when it is desired to clean them; and in the several other novel features of construclion and operation hereinafter described and which are specifically set forth in the claim hereto annexed., It is constructed as follows, reference being had to the accompanying drawings in which,

A-, is the base of the can,cylindrical in form, and constructed preferably of tin, and provided in its inner and upper edge with a band -1-, threaded.

B-, is the upper and contracted portion of the can, constructed substantially as shown, and provided upon its lower end with a thread 2-, adapted to engage with the th read upon the band -l. This thread -2- may be constructed and formed directly in the lower end of the part -B-but preferably, I secure a metallic band to the lower end of said part B and thread it.

3-, is a band just above the threaded portion upon the exterior of the part -B- and forms a tight joint with the upper end of the part -A-, when the two parts are secured together.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A milk can comprising two parts,-A- and -B-, the part -A- having an internally threaded band 1- and the part -B reduced in size at its upper end and having its lower edge threaded and adapted to engage with the threaded band-1 and the band -3- adapted to rest upon the upper edge of the band 1- when the parts are secured together, as set forth.
