SHIPPING RECEIPT-BOOK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 482,047, dated September 6, 1892. Application led February 24, 1892. Serial No. 422,678. (No model.)

Beit known that I, .I OHN D. D. MORTIMER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Stock ton, in the county of San Joaquin and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shipping Receipt- Books; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this speciiication.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is to furnish a shipping receipt-book combining a shippingorder and shipping-receipt with stubs and a duplicate shipping-receipt, all in convenient proximity.
A are the covers. B, the second page, is the back of the shipping-order, which latter is on the first page and contains any desired printed matter. The printed contents of the back B are the conventional conditions and agreements of such aninstrument. The shippingorder is attached to a stub E with perforated edge, so that the order may be easily detached. The third page is the original shipping-receipt, which is also attached to a stub E with perforated edges. Page 4 is` the back O of page 3 and contains the conventional conditions and agreements. Page 5 'is the duplicate shipping-receipt D, which remains in the book after the shipping-order and shippingreceipt have been removed.
I am aware that it is not new to provide a shipping-book with permanent leaves and detachable leaves, and therefore do not claim such an arrangement, broadly; but,
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is- As an improved article of manufacture, the shipping receipt-book herein described, consisting, essentially, of the covers, A suitably connected together, the shipping-orderdetachably connected to a stub, which in turn is permanently connected to the covers, the detachable shipping-receipt arranged after the shipping-order and next to the same, said shipping-receipt being detachably connected to a stub, which in turn is permanently connected t0 the covers, and the permanent or stationary shipping-receipt arranged after the detachable shipping-receipt and next to the same, the said permanent shipping-receipt, which is designed to remain in the book and form a permanent record, being permanently connected to the covers, substantially as specified.
