S H O W.- STA N D SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 444,575, dated January 13, 1891.

Application filed February 4, 1890. Serial No. 339,197- (No model.)

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that LERNST BROOKMANN, a subject of the King of Prussia, German Emperor, and a resident of Ellrich, in the Kingdom of Saxony, Germany, have invented some new and useful Improvements in Show-Stands, of which the following is an exact description.

The object of my invent-ion is to provide a stand for exhibiting objects of sale in showwindows or shops with an especial view to economy of space and facility in reaching the articles.

In order to make my in vention more clear, I refer to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is an end View of the show-stand. Fig. 2 is a detail viewof one arm of the same, partly in sect-ion. Fig. 3* is a front view of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a section of line a ,5, Fig. 2.

The rods 0 0, containing hooks d d for the suspension of articles,aregsuspended on the bars I), which in their turn are supported on the cross-bars a a of the frame A. The bar I) has its one end restingin the slot-holes b of the back cross-bar a, while its front end is formed into a hook, whereby it is suspended on the front cross-bar a. The front end of this hook is again formed to a hook b, in which bar 0 is suspended.

B is a stand having hooks 0 0 so that the bars 0 a may be drawn out and rested on the stand B, for which purpose it is necessary to detach the front end of bar 0 (which is formed to a handle) from its hook I) and then draw the same forward, when its back end will slide along bar I). The frame A may be arranged for the reception of any number of such suspension-bars c c. As it is also desirable to be able to adjust these bars sideward to accommodate articles of .various sizes, the back crossbars a a, Fig. 4, are provided with a number of slot-holes at any desired distance from each other compatible with the practice.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is The combination of a frame A, having crossbars a a, the cross-bars provided with slots b 17 in which one endipf a bar I) is placed, said bar 17 being bookedat its other or front end and resting on front cross-bar a and having end of hook prolonged downward and formed to a second hook, and the bar 0, provided with hooks for reception of articles, having its one end sliding on bar I) and its other resting in hook I) and adapted to be adjusted sideward in frame A, in the manner described.
