- My invention relates to certain novel and valuable improvements in water-evaporator attachments, which are especially designed for hot-air registers; and my objects are, primarily, to provide means, in combination with awater-holding vessel, whereby such vessel can be readily attached to any of the wellknown wall-registers, or to any reticulated register, and removed from the same at will.

WAT ER-EVAPORATOR ATTACHMENT FOR-HOT-AIR REGISTERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 435,095, dated August 26, 1890.

To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDREW F. HiLY ER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Washington, in the District of Columbia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Water-E vaporator Attachm ents for Hot-Air Registers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to certain novel and valuable improvements in water-evaporator attachments, which are especially designed for hot-air registers; and my objects are, primarily, to provide means, in combination with awater-holding vessel, whereby such vessel can be readily attached to any of the wellknown wall-registers, or to any reticulated register, and removed from the same at will.
Another object of my invention and improvement is to provide for the attachment to a water-receptacle of a capillary cloth, for the purpose not only of exposing a large evaporating-surface to the heated air, but also for arresting dust which escapes from the register.

IVhile my invention is especially applicable to wall-registers for heated air, I do not confine myself to this particular class of registers, for the reason that the invention is applicable to the reticulated or open ornamental work which is applied to stoves or heaters of various kinds. B designates a water-receptacle, which may be made of metal or of a vitreous substance, or a combination of both of these materials. The vessel B, which I illustrate in the anneXed drawings, is segmental and has a flat back a, adapted to the fiat wall-register A.

At a suitable distance from the pointed end of each bracket D, and on that side of it next to the face of the register, is a beveled notch d, the bevel being downward and outward, and at a suitable distance below said notch cl the body of each bracket is perforated, through which perforation passes freely the screw-threaded stem of a beveled or hooked locking-key E, on which stem is applied an adjustable clamping-nut f. The flat hooking or engaging inner portion c of the key is designed to enter through any one of the interstices through a register, and by turning the key it will engage with the ribs or rigid portions of the register. Then when the nuts are set up the brackets are rigidly held in position for receiving in their notches (Z the wire or rod on the water-evaporating pan.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination, with an evaporating-span adapted for hot-air registers, having a rod C attached to its back wall, of supporting-braclc ets D, having beveled notches (1, provided with towel-holders on their upper ends, and devices adapted to engage with a register, as specified.
