Description

(No Model.) v
- v. FISCHER.
TRUSS-v No. 414,880. Patented Nov. 12,1889.
WITNESSES 7W Mix By ATTOH/VE Y8- UNITED STATES PATENT ()FFICE.
VICTOR FISCHER, OF BUDA-PESTI-I, AUSTRIA-HUNGARY.
TRUSS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 414,880, dated November 12, 1889.
Application filed August 21, 1889. Serial No. 321,497. (No model-i To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, VICTOR FISCHER, a subject of the Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary, residing at Buda-Pesth, Austria- I-Iungary, have invented a new and Improved Truss, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The essential feature of. my invention is that a truss of my invention enables me to apply the pressure exactly at that point of the pad where it may be required in accordance with the nature of the rupture.
I have represented my new improved truss in the annexed drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which Figure 1 shows a perspectiveview of the new truss, and Fig. 2a side elevation of the pad.
The construction of my truss is as follows: A metal band I) is arranged on the pad by sewing or otherwise, and is provided with four, five, or more inwardly-threaded holes 0 c 0 0 which holes penetrate into the pad. The necessary pressure is imparted by means of a spring or, provided with an oblong slot g. This spring can be secured to the pad by means of a screw (1, which is passed through the spring at any suitable point of the slot 9 and then screwed down into any of the holes 0 c c 0 On the other end the spring a carries a stud e, to which the strap of the truss may be attached by means of holes formed in said strap. It is obvious that this arrangement enables me to' apply the pressure at any desired point of the pad. For this purpose it is sufficient to pass the screw d at the desired place through the slot of the spring and then to screw it down in the hole at the place where the pressure should be applied. In this manner I attain the result that I render my truss suitable to be used for any of the differentlydeveloped ruptures.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is An improved truss carrying on its pad a spring a. of the required strength, which spring is provided with an oblong slot g, through which the screw cl is passed and then screwed down in one of the threaded holes 0 c 0 0?, and which carries on its other end a stud e, to which the hip-strap is attached, substantially as and for the purpose hereinbefore shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
VICTOR FISCHER. Y
