Be it known that we, SAMUEL HENRY and MARGARET HENRY, citizens of the United States, residing at Rockford, in the county of WVinnebago and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tables, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a folding table provided with a wash-stand attachment; and it consists of certain new and useful features of construction and combinations of parts, hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, Figure 1 is an isometric View of our improvement with the top raised and the wash-stand attachment in position for use. 2 is an end view of the same, having the wash-stand attachment removed, the top lowered, and sectioned through the dotted line so so of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is an end view of the table folded, the wash-stand attachment being removed. Fig. t is aview of the wash-stand attachment provided with a bowl. Fig. 5 is an isometric View illustrating the means employed for securing the table-legs together and preventing them from spreading too far when in use.
Like letters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
A represents crossed table-legs, secured together by means of pintles A and cross-pieces A A one of the former cross-pieces being secured to one pair of said legs in such a manner as to come in contact with the remaining pair and prevent both pairs from spreading too far when the table is in use. The upper cross-pieces A are adapted to receive and support the wash-stand attachment, to be described hereinafter.
B is a washstand attachment, having an opening B therethrough to admit a washbowl 13 B are parallel cleats secured to the under side of the attachment B to retain the same upon the cross-pieces A B B are side pieces and an end piece of the attachment B, and serve to prevent water from dripping down therefrom.
D is a folding pocket suspended from the cross-pieces A F is a table-top, which lifts, as shown in Fig. 1, and is provided with cross-pieces F, whereby it is hinge-jointed to one pair of the legs A by means of pintles F F are hooks for engaging with the pins F which are set in one pair of the legs A of the table.
Our invention will be found to be highly serviceable for use both as a work-table and a wash-stand. Obviously, when it is not desirable to use the same as a Wash-stand, the attachment and bowl may be removed therefrom.
\Ve claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. In combination, the legs A, secured together by means of pintles A and cross-pieces A A the top F, provided with cross-pieces F, hinge-jointed to said table-legs by means of pintles F and the hooks F for engaging with the pins F, the attachment B, provided with the side pieces 13, end piece B, cleats B and having an opening B therethrough to admit a wash-bowl, and a wash-bowl B substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
2. In combination, the legs A, secured together by means of pintles A and cross-pieces A A the folding pocket D, depending from the upper cross-pieces A the top F, provided with cross pieces F, whereby it is hingejointed to said table-legs by means of pintles F and the hooks F for engaging with the pins F and the attachment I), provided with side pieces 13*, end piece B cleats B and having an opening B therethrough to admit a washbowl B substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
