IMPROVEMENT IN ATTACHMENTS FOR SINKS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 160,540, dated March 9, 187 5; application filed October 26, 1874.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN MURDOGK, of Carver, in the county of Plymouth, State of Massachusetts, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Attachments for Sinks, of which the following is a description sufficiently full, clear, and exact to enable any person skilled in the art or science to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which- Figure l is an isometrical perspective view of a sink provided with my improved attachment, and Fig. 2 a like view of the attachment.

My invention relates more especially to that class of sinks which are made of iron; and consists in a certain attachment for the same, constructed and arranged in a novel manner, by which the capacity and utility of sinks of this character are greatly increased.

The extreme simplicity of my invention renders an elaborate description unnecessary.

and also with the slots 11 1), into which the pin- E is a dish, having a perforated bottom, and provided with a hook, for attaching it to the edge of the sink, as shown in Fig. 1.

In using the attachment shown in Fig. 2, the part 0 is secured to the rim of the sink by means of the hooks c c, the pintles a a being inserted in the slots b 1), thereby forming a hinge, by which the table B may be turned backward or upward out of the Way when not in use. B is intended for a drain or strainer, to be used in supporting dishes after being washed, or for any similar purpose, although it may be used for a variety of other purposes without departing from the spirit of my invention.

It will be obvious'that the attachment may be easily removed from the sink when not in use, or whenever the same is required, and that it may be readily constructed for use with any ordinary sink and sold as an article of trade.

Having thus explained my invention, what I claim is- The table B, provided with the legs F and pintles a a, in combination with the sink A, provided with the rim D, and the socketpiece- 0, having the slots b b and hooks c c, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
