J. KATZENBERG.
SUSPBNDBRS.
No. 384,528. Patented June 12, 1888.
INVENTOR:
BY @f/M i-e' ATTORNEYS WITN M f N FETWSY Pham-Ll NITED STATES Aram* F F ICE@ SUSPENDERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 384,528, dated June 12, 1888.
Application tiled March 31, 1888. Serial No. 269,134.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB KATZENBERG, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and'useful Improvement in Suspenders, of which the following isa t'ull, clear, and exact description.
The invention consists of the special construction of the Suspenders, all as hereinafter described and claimed.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification,
in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the gures.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a pair of Suspenders made in accordance with my invention, and Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation taken on the line ma; of Fig. l.
The straps or webs A A are provided at their front ends with the suspender-ends B B, permanently attached to the Webs, preferably by means ofthe D-shaped pieces of leather, a, placed over the suspender-ends and stitched to the Web by a seam, b. The opposite ends of the webs A are held in buckles C C, attached to a back piece, D. The two buckles C G (No model.)
stand at an angle to each other, as shown in Fig. 1, and attached to the lower end of the said hack piece, D, are the back suspenderends E E.
By constructing the Suspenders as described all buckles aud metal pieces at the front which soil and wear the shirt are dispensed with, the metal at the back is reduced to the minimum, and the straps A may be easily adjusted as to length by means of the buckles C.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent* The back piece, D, the suspender-ends E E, secured to the lower end of the said back piece, and the buckles O O, secured to the upper end of said back piece, in combination with the webs A A, held by the buckles C C, and provided at the front ends with the permanently-attached suspender-ends B B, substantially as described.
J. KATZENBERG. Witnesses:
