  • the edges 12 of the filter here facing the suit engage the circumference of the panel 10 by the aid of a suitable connection, e.g. an adhesive fastening 11. A filter secured in this manner can be rapidly exchanged when this might be necessary.

  • a protective gamient adapted to enclose the body of a wearer to protect the wearer against poisonous gases and liquids, comprising: an outer non-permeable closing layer, said outer layer being flexible but relatively stiff and being completely resistant to poisonous gases and liquids, an inner porous filter layer secured to the interior of the outer layer, said inner layer impregnated with an agent means for neutralizing the poisonous substances, and ventilation openings in the outer layer, said inner porous filter layer completely covering said ventilation openings, said ventilation openings being covered also by the outer layer in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the openings.
  • a protective garment according to claim 1 at least a portion of said inner porous layer being removably secured to the interior of the outer layer.
  • a protective garment according to claim 1 including a perforated panel covering the ventilation openings, the inner layer being removably secured to the inner side of the panel.
