- ABSTRACT Plural-slide transfer pressing apparatus wherein a plurality of single action presses are connected right and left at their bed portions, a transmitting shaft provided on a crown of one of the presses and a transmitting shaft provided on a crown of the other press are connected with flexible couplings, both of the presses are driven or stopped by a clutch and a brake provided in one press, and moreover a transfer bar provided across both of the presses is driven by the rotating force taken from either one of main gears provided in a crown of one of the presses.
- the present invention furnishes a pressing apparatus which is characterized in that each single action press is alined right and left, the bed portions of each single action press is firmly connected, the transmitting shaft driving system is substantially the same, the transmitting shaft driving system can be separated to each single action press driving system, and a transfer bar provided across both of single-action presses is driven by the rotating force taken from the main gear of one single action press.
- the present invention relates to a transfer pressing apparatus comprising plural slides.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a transfer pressing apparatus comprising plural slides which is made separable to each single action press very easily, thereby their transport is very convenient.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a plural-slide transfer pressing apparatus which is able to drive and stop each single action press by one set of a clutch and a brake, a driving system of one single action press being the same as that of the other.
- Still another object of the present invention is to provide a plural-slide transfer pressing apparatus wherein a transfer bar extending over both single action presses is driven by the rotating force taken from a main gear furnished in one single action press of the plural single action presses.
- Further object of the present invention is to provide a plural-slide transfer pressing apparatus in which one single action press having a comparatively large capacity and another having a comparatively small capacity are connected together right and left at each of their bed portions, a transmitting shaft of one single action press is extended above the other press, control of both the presses is made by a set of a clutch and a brake, and at the same time a transfer bar provided extending over both of the presses is made to drive freely by the rotating force from one of the main gears.

- a linklever 23 is connected with the main gear 20 by means of a circular fitting portion 24 formed on the upper portion of the link-lever 23 and which fits on the outer periphery of the eccentric circular plate portion 22.
- the inner peripheral surface of the circular fitting portion 24 is made so as to slide in the peripheral direction against the outer peripheral surface of the eccentric circular plate portion 22.
- An inserting hole 25 is provided in the lower portion of the link-lever 23.

Accordingly, when the transmitting shaft 4 is rotated by setting of the clutch and disengaging of the brake 6, the rotating force is transmitted to the transmitting shaft of the press B side through the flexible coupling 64, inter-connecting shaft 62 and flexible coupling 63.
- the transmitting shaft 4 of the press A is substantially the same shaft as the transmitting shaft 60 of the press B, thereby the presses A and B are controlled by the clutch 5 and the brake 6.
- the link-lever 70 is connected with a connecting rod 73 by a pin 72, the connecting rod '73 is able to slide upwardly and downwardly within a cylindrical guiding member 74 provided at the lower portion of the crown 48, and the lower end of the connecting rod 73 is fixed to the upper portion of a slide 75.
- main gear 78 engages the pinion 57 mounting on the driving shaft 54.
- An eccentric circular plate portion 79 of the main gear 78 is fitted so as to slide in the peripheral direction relative to a circular fitting portion 81 of a link-lever 80.
- the upper portion of a connecting rod 82 is connected with the lower portion of the linklever by a pin 83.
- the lower end of the connecting rod 82 is fixed to the upper portion of the slide 74.
- an outer plate portion 90 and inner plate portion 91 each have four inserting holes 92, 92, 93, 93, respectively, spaced substantially equal distances apart in the upward and downward directions in front of and behind the press A.
- an outer plate portion 95 and inner plate portion 96 each have four inserting holes 97, 97, 98, 98, respectively, spaced substantially equal distances apart in the upward and downward directions in the front of and behind the press B.
- Inserting holes 92, 92, 93, 93, of the left-side frame portion 89 of the bed 44 of the press A are positioned in alignment with inserting holes 97, 97, 98, 98, of the right side frame portion 94 of the bed 85 of the press B.
- An abutting plate 99 is fixed at the inside of the outer plate portion 90 of the bed 44 of the press A.
- An abuting plate 100 is fixed at the inside of the outer plate portion 95 of the bed 85 of the press B.
- the height of the left side frame portion 89 is equal to the height of the right side frame portion 94, so that the upper surface of the bed 85 of the press B is alined in the horizontal direction with the upper surface of the bed 44 of the press A.
- Reinforcing plates 101, 101, 101 are provided between and are fixed at their ends to the outer plate portion 90 and the inner plate portion 91. Reinforcing plates 102, 102, 102 are provided inside of the right side frame portion 94. The reinforcing plates 101, 101, 101 are positioned in the same horizontal planes as the corresponding reinforcing plates 102, 102, 102.
- a left side frame portion 103 of the crown 1, left side upright 43 and left side frame portion 89 of the bed 44 in the press A are in close contact with a right side frame portion 104 of the crown 48, right side upright 84 and right side frame portion 94 of the bed 85 in the press B so that the press A and presss B are arranged in the interval facing the front.
- the bed 44 of the press A is connected strongly with the bed 85 of the press B.
- each connecting bolt 105, 105, 105 is inserted through the inserting holes 92, 93, 97 and 98 respectively, and nuts 106 and 107 are fitted on the end screw portions of each connecting bolt 105, 105, 105 projecting from the inner plate portion 91 and the inner plate portion 96, thereby the bed 44 is connected with the bed 85.
- Each abutting plate 99, 100 has a key way 108, 108 extending in the front and back directions respectively, and a key 109 is fitted into the key way 108, 108, so that the sliding movement in the upward and downward directions between the bed 44 and the bed 85 is prevented. Also, each of the central portions of the left side frame portion 89 and the right side frame portion 94 have a key way 110, respectively.
- Numeral 112 is a bolster of the press A, 113 is a knock out mechanism, and 114 is a bolster of the press B.
- a transfer bar actuating mechanism 115 is mounted on the left side upright 84 of the press B.
- the transfer bar actuating mechanism 115 is shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, and includes a gear 116 engaged with the main gear 68, a gear 117 fixed on one end of a mounting shaft 1 18 is engaged with the gear 116.
- a bevel gear 119 is positioned on the other end of the mounting shaft 118 and is in engagement with another bevel gear 120.
- the bevel gear 120 is fixed to the upper end of a vertically arranged rotating shaft 121 positioned alongside the left side upright 84. At the lower end of the rotating shaft 121 there is a bevel gear 122 which is in engagement with a bevel gear 123 mounted on a shaft 124.
- a cam 125 is fixed on the shaft 124.
- Transfer bars 127 are actuated through a crank mechanism 126 by the rotation of the cam 125 through followers in contact with its cam shaped periphery.
- the transfer bars 127, 127 extend from the press A to the press B, and have fingers 128, 128 for the being transferred article.
- the present apparatus is actuated as following.
- the clutch 5 sets and brake 6 disengaged and, the transmitting shaft 4 is rotated.
- the transmitting shaft 60 is rotated through the coupling 64, inter-connecting shaft 62 and coupling 63.
- the rotating force of the transmitting shaft 4 is transmitted to the driving shaft 12 through the pinion 7 and the gear 14, the driving shaft 12 rotates each of main gear and 33 through pinions 13, 15, respectively, and each link-lever 23, is moved in the upward and downward directions by the corresponding eccentric circular plate portion 22, 24 of the main gear 20, 33, each connecting rod 27, 38 is moved in the up and down directions, the slide 29 is moved in the upward and downward directions by the connecting rod 27, 38.
- the rotating force of the transmitting shaft 60 is transmitted to the driving shaft 54 through the pinion 61 and the gear 56.
- the main gear 68, 78 is rotated through the pinion 55, 57, respectively, and the link-lever 70, 80 moves in the upward and downward directions, and, as a result, the connecting rod 73, 82 is moved in the up and down directions, and the slide 75 is moved in the upward and downward directions by the connecting rods 73, 82.
- the rotating force of the main gear 68 of the press B is transmitted to the rotating shaft 121 through gears 116, 117 and bevel gears 119, 120.
- the cam 125 is rotated by bevel gears 122, 123, and the transfer bars 127, 127 are actuated through the crank mechanism 126.
- Both of the presses A, B can share the loads accoding to their capacity ranges, that is, heavy load processes such as coining are alloted to the press A which has a large capacity, and light load processes such as piercing or trimming are alloted to the press B which has a small capacity.
- both of the presses can be operated at their highest efficiencies.
- both of the presses can be driven simultaneously by operation of the clutch 5 and the brake 6.
- both of the presses are fixed to one another at their beds, thus preventing lateral shifting, and at the same time, the transmitting shaft of the press A is connected with the transmitting shaft of the press B through flexible couplings and inter-connecting shaft, so that relative motion between the upper portions of the presses is allowed so that damage can be prevented, and pressing operations can be carried out at high efficiency by means of the transfer bar on both of the press A and B by the rotating force introduced from the main gear.
- both of the presses can be disassembled into singleaction presses by taking off the couplings and connecting bolts which connect the beds of each press A, B,
- a plural-slide transfer pressing apparatus comprising at least two single action presses, each said press comprises a frame including a crown, uprights, and a bed, a slide arranged to move up and down in each said frame, said frames are arranged in side-by-side relationship and said bed portions thereof are firmly connected together, a transmitting shaft provided on said crown of each said press, means including flexible couplings arranged for interconnecting said transmitting shafts, a main gear provided in said crown of each said press, a drive system in each said press in engagement with said transmitting gear and said main gear therein for driving said main gear from said transmitting gear, a clutch and a brake arranged to control said transmitting gear, transfer bars extending across both of said presses, a cam, means for rotating said cam from said main gear of one of said presses, and a crank mechanism interconnecting said cam and said transfer bars for driving said transfer bars.
- a plural-slide transfer pressing apparatus comprising at least two single action presses, each said press comprises a frame including a crown, uprights, and a bed, a slide arranged to move up and down in each said frame, said frames are arranged in side-by-side relationship and said bed portions thereof are firmly connected together, a transmitting shaft provided on said crown of each said press, means including flexible couplings arranged for interconnecting said transmitting shafts, a main gear provided in said crown of each said press, a drive system in each said press in engagement with said transmitting gear and said main gear therein for driving said main gear from said transmitting gear, a clutch and a brake arranged to control said transmitting gear, transfer bars extending across both of said presses, a cam, means for rotating said cam from said main gear of one of said presses, a crank mechanism interconnecting said cam and said transfer bars for driving said transfer bars, each said bed of said frames having a side frame portion, each said side frame portion including an upwardly extending inner plate portion and an upwardly extending outer
