BREAST- STRAP COUPLING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 353,479, dated November 30, 1886.
Application tiled April 28, 18861 To @ZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID L. SHAFER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pleasant Hill, in the county of Miami and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in the Coupling for a Divided Harness Breast-Strap; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the saine, reference being had to the acco1npa nying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

Figure l of the drawings is a plan View of the breast-strap coupling when fastened; Fig. 2, a longitudinal median section` thereof` and Fig. 3 is a detail View of the two sections of the coupling when separated.
In the drawings, A represents the coupling as an entirety, and B C its two sections, which are made to lock securely together or to be readily detached. The section B is made with a keeper, b, and preferably with a flat top thereto. D is a plate-sp ring, having the end d, bolted in front of the keeper, passing through it, and raised at the rear end, d. The section O is provided with the projecting hook c, facing upwardly, so that when it is forced through Serial No. 200,425. (No model.)

In a breast-strap coupling, the one section having a hook, c, and the other provided with a keeper, b, in combination with a platespring, D, passing through the keeper, the end d being riveted in front of said keeper and the end d. bent up to the rear thereof, snbstantially as shown and described.
