  • the rasp is operated by a small crank or an edge ring provided at one housing end. Round housings roll away easily; furthermore, a special soap, equipped with a groove exactly complementary to the housing, is required. In another device capable of being carried around a rectangular housing and a piece of soap, as well as a reciprocating plane are used, whereby a non-handy, complicated and expensive construction is created.
  • the housing can be equipped with a holding magnet and/o1' with a suspension hook provided preferably on the end side remote from the rasp. On the side of the rasp, the housing can be suitably closed up by a cap.

  • a square recess 4 is provided in the closing member 2 at the inside of the housing 1, which recess 4 serves the purpose of receiving a loop-like bent spring blade 5, the horizontal ends of which are secured by screws 6 to the closing member 2.
  • the spring 5 has a square recess 7 into which is inserted the thickened conical head 8 of a spindle 10 equipped with a thread 9 so far, that the spring 5 pulls upwardly the spindle 10 continuously.
  • the spindle 10 serves the purpose of receiving a square piece of soap 11 having an axial bore and carries at its lower set-off end 12 a frame 13 operating as a hand wheel for the reception of a blade-shaped rasp 19.
  • the frame 13 is square and is equipped with two ribs 15 and 16 perpendicularly abutting each other, in the joining point of which is disposed a hub 17 for reception of the set-off end 12 of the spindle 10, which is rigidly connected with the frame 13 by a cotter pin 18.
  • the frame 13 projects towards the side of the housing 1 beyond the surfaces of the ribs 15 and 16 and of the hub 17 towards the side of the housing 1, so that its upper edges close up flush with the latter, upon insertion of a rasp disc 19.
  • the soap 11 stands thereby slightly beyond the lower edge of the housing 1, whereby the scraping of soap is made possible.
  • the frame 13 with the rasp 19 and the spindle 10 Prior to the insertion of the square piece of soap 11, the frame 13 with the rasp 19 and the spindle 10 is taken out by simple downward pull from the mounting of the spindle head 8 in the recess 7 of the spring 5 and from the housing 1. Then the piece of soap 11 is slid onto the spindle 10 and by mounting of a tipping nut 20, which is prevented from rotation by the square cross-section of the housing 1, is loaded such that the piece of soap 11 always rigidly engages the rasp 19 with its lower end. Thereafter the frame 13 with the spindle 10 and the piece of soap 11 are slid into each other until the upper edges of the frame 13 abut the lower edges of the housing 1. The conical head 8 of the spindle 10 snaps thereby again into the recess 7 of the spring 5, which pulls upwardly the mentioned members.
  • the soap dispenser is suitably closed up by a cap 21, the lateral parts 22 of which extend beyond the frame 13 up to the adjacent part of the wall of the housing 1.
  • a suspension hook 23, secured to the housing 1, can be provided.
  • the housing 1 is equipped with an upper closing member 2, the frame 13 and the lower closing cap 21 preferably of colored synthetic material.
  • the threaded spindle and the rasp 19 can likewise be pressed of synthetic material.
  • the soap holder During use of the soap holder, the latter is held with one hollow-shaped hand with the frame-shaped hand wheel, upon removal of the closing cap 21, while the housing 1 is turned in the direction of the arrow 24 with the other hand, so that powder-shaped soap is scraped from the lower end face of the piece of soap 11 into the hollowing hand held therebelow.
