COMBINED FUR COLLAR AND MUFF.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 345,632, dated July 13, 1886.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, J OsEPH GYRGY, of the city, county,.and State of New York, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in a Combined Fur Collar' and Muff; and I do hereby declare that the followingis a full and exact description thereof.

The objects of my improvements are, first,

- the wearer to keep her hands free for any action, while the Inuf remains in its proper place, without danger of being mislaid or lost.

To this end my invention consists ofasatchelmuff of novel construction, made attachable to a collar having corresponding means of connection, so that the two shall form, for the time being, but one piece, and, together with cuffs, constitute what is known by the trade as a set of fors.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front, and Fig. 2 a sectional View, of my combined collar and Satchel-mud.

A is a fur collar, with its ends a a of sufficient length to depend over the breast of the wearer. B B are eyes or rings, hidden from view by the fur,and flrml y riveted to the leather near the extremities of said lappels A A.

C', one shutting and opening in ordinary way, and leading into a deep, double leatherlined pocket that extends down and along the -inside walls'of the slit mnff. This frame is properly riveted to the p elt of the fur, and at two eqnidistant points upon it there are constructed, correspondingly to the two lappelringstwo metal hooks or clasps, c c, which again are masked or covered by ornate disks c' c', made in the shape of rose-leaves or other forms.

The purpose of covering the lappel-rings and ornately masking the muff-hooks is not zesthetical alone, but it is also technical, for it renders the separate use of the combined parts possible, without offending thereby the requirements of looks or appearance.

Having fully described my invention, what I desire to claim and secure by Letters Patent In a combined collar and muff of the character herein described, having means, such as hooks and rings, for detachably connecting the muff and collar, the metallic disks c c, attached to the frame of the muff in front of the hooks, whereby the hooks Yare hid from View, both when the muffand collar are worn together and when the muff is worn separate from the collar, as set forth.
