Be it known that I, -VILLIAM V. KAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Belton, in the county of Bell and State of Texas, have invented certain new and Improved Gag-Runners; and I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same.

My invention relates to a bearing device on a bridle for the reins; and it is my object to afford such a device, the construction of which shall permit its adjustment in position in the bridle without sewing it to the throat-latch.

My invention consists in the construction of the gag-rnnner, hereinafter described and claimed.

Referring to the drawings, Figure lis a plan View of my improved device, and Fig. 2a longitudinal sectional View of the same.

The device comprises a buckle, q, on the end ol a plate provided longitudinally,with a loop, q', to hold the rein, which is passed through it, and the buckle permits ready attachment of the device upon the throat-latch without sewing.

Ordinarily I prefer to provide two buckles, q, with either stift' or loose tongues, one buckle on each extremity of the plate carrying the loop q', whereby the device may be attached, without sewing, as well to the bridle at the part which sits upon the side of the aniinals head as to the throat-latch, although equivalents of the bucklessuch as hooks, for eXamy ple-may be used, and it is not absolutely nec- WILLIAM V.
