ALEXANDER M. BOLLINGER, OE KELLYS STATION, PENNSYLVANIA.
WORK=TABLE FOR SHOE=MAKERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent lfi'o. 310,78 dated January 13, 1885. Application filed October 15, 1884. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDER M. BoL- LINGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kellys Station, in the county of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Work-Table for Shoe-Makers Use, which will be readily understood from the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my circular revolving table, the top of which is divided into a series of open compartments or triangular-shaped boxes for the reception of such tools and implements of trade required by a shoe-maker in the prosecution of his business; Fig. 2, a transverse vertical sec tion of the upper portion of said table. Fig. 3 represents a jointed arm or bracket attached to the spindle, around which the table may revolve, for supporting a lamp over and above the table; Fig. 4, the upper portion of the column upon which the table rests and its central pivotal pin removed therefrom.
To construct a revolving table for the purpose and in accordance with my invention, I prepare a suitable column, A, and provide the same with such diverging feet B as shall cause it to maintain or stand in a vertical position.
Inserted in the top of this vertical column A is a stout cylindrical pin, 0, and around its upwardly-projecting portion the platform D of a circular table, E, is arranged and made capable ofrotation. The upper surface of the table inclines downwardly from its center or pivotal point to its perimeter,which isinclosed by a deep surrounding rim, F, and said upper surface is divided by suitable partitions,
9', into a series of triangular-shaped compartments or open boxes, h, of convenient size for the reception of such tools and other matters as are or may be used in the shoemakers trade or vocation. Beneath the platform of the table is asliding drawer, 7t, for containing thread and other small objects required in the business; and attached to the exterior of the rim F are a series of pockets, 1), for the insertion and proper holding of awls and the like. On top of the pivotal peg around which the table revolves is attached an extension or jointed arm, in, having at its extremity a bow], n, for carrying a lamp that may be swung around and over the table, as and when the circumstances of the case require.
Having thus briefly described the construction of my improved revolving table and its use, I claim As an improved article of manufacture, a work-table consisting of a perpendicular post provided with diverging legs or feet for supporting the same, a round pin inserted and extending above the upper end of said post, a circular frame or table pivoted thereto, the top of which presents a sloping surface that inclines downwardly from its center or pivotal point, and is divided by suitable walls into several triangular-shaped open compartments, beneath one of which is placed a sliding drawer, the edge ofthe table being bounded by a high circumferential ledge fitted with outside projecting pockets.
ALEXANDER M. BOLLINGER.
