UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE. Y
ADDISON WHITE, on HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA, nssrenoa OF ONE-HALF To JOHN L. arson, F SAME PLACE.
GAME-CARRIER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 276,945, dated May 1, 1883.
Application filed February 8, 1883. (No model.)
v and exact description of the invcntion, such as willenahle others skilled in theart to which it appertains to make and use the same. 1
This invention relates to a game-holder or device for carrying gamesuch as fish, birds,
. rabbits, &c.said device being especially adapted for the convenience of sportsmen, peddlers, and others; and the invention consists of a frame composed of a single piece of wire having eyes or loops formed therein, and
provided with sharpened hooked ends for engagement with said loops after the been attached.
In the annexed drawings, illustrating my invention,Figure l is a view of the game-carrier and devices for suspending the same. Fig. 2 is a view of my game-carrier, showing one end of the wire unhooked from its loop for the game has purpose of attaching game to that portion of the device; and Fig. 3 is asimilar vieiv, showing both ends or hooks of the wire frame detached from their retaining-loops.
Like letters indicate like parts.
The frame A of the gamecarrier consists preferably of a single wire bent into the form shown in Fig.3,loops or eyes a a being formed by coiling the wire at unequal distances from one end of said wire. The frame A is thus made to have two arms,bc,ot' equal or nearly equal length, and one arm, d, that is longer than the others. The arms 0 d are bent or curved inward, and are provided at their ends with sharpened hooks e0, adapted to be passed 40 through the game and afterward engaged with the loops at a, as shown in Fig. 1.
B B are swiveled snap-hooks engaging the loops or eyes a a at oneend, and at their other ends attached'to a strap or belt, 0, by which 5 the frame A may be suspended from the shoulders. If desired, the snap-hooks may be dispensed with and the frame be provided with a handle, of wood or other material, attached to the arm b, as shown by dotted lines in Fig. 2; or the arm 1) maybe itself used as a handle.
This device is not only useful as a game carrier or holder, but may be used with convenience for suspending other'provisions or like articles in pantries, store-rooms, and mar- 5 kets.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- 1. A game carrier or holder consisting of a wire frame, A, having loops at a at opposite sides thereof, and arms a 01, provided with hooked ends e (2, adapted to engage with the said loops, substantially as described.
2. In a game carrier or holder, the combi- 6 nation, with the trameA,having loops or eyes a a at opposite sides thereof, and hooked arms 0 d, adapted to engage therewith, of the snap hooks B Band strap 0, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature i presence of two witnesses.
ADDISON WHITE.
