Description

A FREEMAN. HALTER ROPE CLIP.
APPLICATION FILED APR. 18, 1912.

2 ICq-l- COLUMBIAPLANDGRAPH co., WASHINGTON D C AUGUST FREEMAN, 0F NEWHALL, IOWA.
HALTER-ROPE CLIP.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 16,1913.
Application filed April 18, 1912. Serial No. 691,766.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Aucos'r FREEMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newhall, in the county of Benton, State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Haltenliope Clips; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of themvent-ion, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in halters, and particularly to rope halters.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a simple and eflicient clip whereby a slip noose may be made in the halter.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description and with particular reference to the accompanying drawings. a
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective View of a rope formed into a slip noose showing my invention attached thereto, Fig. 2 is an enlarged side elevation of the clip, Fig. 3'is an end view, and Fig. t is a top plan view.
Referring particularly to the drawings, 10 represents the rope of a halter, one end of which is formed into a loop 11, to the end 12 of said rope my grip is adapted to be secured. The clip is formed of a single piece of wire, and consists of a shank portion 13, which extends longitudinally of one portion of the loop and has its end passed around the rope as indicated at 14. The
Copies of this patent may be obtained for opposite end of the shank is turned at right angles transversely of the rope. and then into a loop or eye 15, which eye is disposed in a plane at right angles to the rope. The
opposite end of the eye 15 is bent over the shank, and then passed once around the rope, as indicated at 17. Thus the clip comprises a pair of eyes or loops which embrace the end of the rope at spaced intervals and the vertically extending eye or loop 16. This eye 16 is adapted to receive the outer end of the rope slidably therethrough, so that a slip noose is formed.
hat is claimed is:
A clip for a halter rope, for forming a slip noose, comprising a single piece of wire, consisting of a shank arranged to be disposed longitudinally on the end of the rope, a loop formed on one end of the shank adapted to engage the end portion of the rope, the i opposite end of said shank being formed with a loop and arranged to embrace the rope at a suitable distance from the first-named loop, and a guide eye formed in the wire between the. last-named loop and the engaging portion of the shank, said eye being adapted to receive a portion of the rope slidably therethrough, said eyes all lying in planes at right angles to the shank.
In testimony whereof, I aiiix my signature, in presence of two witnesses.
