Specification of Letters Patent No. 26,598, dated December 27, 1859;`
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN P; Koen, of
I New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Folding Bedsteads; and I do,
hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, re erence` being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
Figure I represents a longitudinal section of a bedstead when unfolded ready for use, and Fig. II showsthe same when folded up.
The nature of my invention consists in the combined operation of an eccentric cam` and shoulder, both situated below the rail,`
for the purpose of securing the side rails in their proper place, and at the same time to relieve the pin upon which the side lrail turns, when the bedstead is in` an unfolded position.
A, are the feet of the bedstead to which the rails B are attached by means of pins,
C, in the usual manner, and capable oftnrn-` ing on the same, for the purpose of folding the bedsteadtogether, when not in use.
