COMBINED CORSET AND ABDOMINAL AND SKIRT SUPPORTER.
SPECIFICATION forming' part of-'Letters Patent No. 256,888, dated April 25, 1882.
Application filed October 7, 1881. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern l Be it known that I, F. A. DIETRICH, of Freeport, Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Combined Abdominal and Skirt Supporter, of Which the following is a clear, full, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing', making a part of this specification, in which my invention is clearly illustrated.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use myinventon, I will proceed to describe the exact manner in which I have carried it out.
The object of' my invention is to furnish a .reliableskirt-support in combination with the abdominal support; and it consistsof a combination of devices hereinafter explained and claimed.
In the drawing, A represents a lad ys corset, provided 1with the nletal busks a a. At the lower end of each busk is attached one-halt of the elliptical plate fB, which is somewhat wider than the busks, and serves as an umbilical support, tting the portion to be supported by it.V The corset is made so as not to pass down over the hips. In the back and over the hips the corset ends in a roll, C, which acts as a skirt-supporter. From each end ofthe roll to the abdominal plate B is secured a suitable article of elastic webbing, D, fitting the contour of the part to be supported thereby, and to each end of the roll is also secured the buckle E, While an elastic strap, F, is secured to each side of the lower portion of the plate B. The loose end of this elastic strap lits into the buckle E, whereby the upward pressure of the support may be increased at pleasure.
Having thus explained my invention, what I claim as new, and desire` to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In combination with the corset A, having the busks a a, the roll C, buckle E, webbing D, plate B, and elastic strap F, all constructed substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
