This invention relates to new and useful improvements and structural refinements in cribs, and the principal object of the invention is to provide a highly compact, simple and convenient crib which, in the manner of an attachment, may be readily employed in association with davenports, couches, automobile seats, and the like.

The invention embodies in its construction a three-sided enclosure which is adapted for positioning on the seat portion of a davenport, or the like, while the back rest of the davenport completes the fourth side of the enclosure, an important feature of the invention residing in the provision of means for separably attaching the crib to the davenport, Another feature of the invention involves adjustability of the attaching means so as to accommodate back rests of different heights and thicknesses, while a still further feature resides in the foldability of the enclosure so that it may be conveniently stored away or transported when it is not in use.

With the above more important objects and features in view and such other obiects and features as may become apparent as this specification proceeds, the invention consists essentially in the construction and arrangement of parts as shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention in situ on a davenport;

Figure 2 is a perspective view of the invenl tion per se;

Figure 3 is a fragmentary side elevational view of the attaching means used in the invention; and

Figure 4 is a perspective view of the invention in its folded position.

Like characters of reference are employed to designate like parts in the specification and throughout the several views.

Referring now to the accompanying vdrawings in detail, the invention consists of a crib designated generally by the reference character lll, the same embodying in its construction a bottomless enclosure, consisting of a pair of side walls l2 and a front wall I4 which is hinged to the side walls, as at I6, so that the enclosure is three-sided, as will be clearly apparent.

The bottomless enclosure is intended for positioning upon the seat portion I8 of a davenport 20, or the like, so that the seat portion of the davenport constitutes a floor of the bottomless enclosure while the back rest 22 of the davenport provides the fourth side of the enclosure, as will be clearly apparent.

Means are provided for removably retaining the crib attachment on the davenport, these means consisting of a pair of hooks 24 which arevengageable with the upper edge portion of the back rest 22, as is clearly shown in Figure 1, the forward portions of the hooks 24 being provided with rows of apertures 26 (see Figure 3) to receive pairs of bolts or screws 28 which, in turn, are selectively receivable in vertically spaced, horizontal rows of apertures 30 provided in the rear upper corners of the crib side walls I2.

It will be apparent from the foregoing that by virtue of the

26, 30 wherein the screws 28 are selectively receivable, the hooks 24 may be adjusted relative to the crib in a hori- `zontal direction as well as in a vertical direction, so that the crib attachment will readily accommodate davenports, etc. having back rests of different thicknesses as well as of different heights.

When the invention is not in use, the crib attachment may be folded by virtue of the hinges I9 which permit one of the side walls I2 to fold upon the front wall I4 while the remaining side wall folds upon the side wall already folded, as shown in Figure 4.

It is believed that the advantages and use of the invention will be readily apparent from the foregoing disclosure, and accordingly, further description thereof at this point is deemed unnecessary.

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

In a crib attachment for seats and the like, a pair of side walls provided adjacent their upper edges with vertically spaced horizontal rows of apertures, a pair of seat engaging hooks extending rearwardly from said side walls and having forward portions formed with openings selectively registerable with said apertures, and fastening elements receivable in said apertures and openings, whereby said hooks may be adjusted vertically and horizontally relative to said side Walls.
