Pebw 2'?!9 1951 c. F. HICKS HOLDER FOR wAxPAPER DISPENSERS Filed NOV. 2]., '1947 .ff/g3.
Cee/"l F. Hicks By maf Man@ muy 5mm Patented Feb.. 27, 1951 STATES 2,543,169 PATNT @ENCE l Claim.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements and structural refinements in holders, and the principal object of the invention is to provide a device of the character herein described, such as may be conveniently and eiectively employed for supporting the usual dispensing containers for waXpaper.
A further object of the invention is to provide a holder oi the character described which may be conveniently attached to suitable supporting structure, such as for example, a kitchen cabinet, or the like, and from which the waxpaper may be easily and conveniently withdrawn.
Another object of the invention is to provide a holder for waxpaper dispensers which is simple in construction, which will not easily become damaged, and wherein the waxpaper dispenser may be easily replaced after the contents thereof are exhausted.
A. still further object of the invention is to provide a holder for waxpaper dispensers which will be otherwise well adapted for the purpose for which it is intended.
With the above more important objects in view, and such other objects as may become apparent as this specification proceeds, the invention consists essentially of the arrangement and construction of parts as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention per se.
Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view, taken substantially in the plane of the line 2-2 in Figure l.
Figure 3 is an end view or" the invention, the same being taken in ythe direction of the arrow 3 in Figure l and illustrating a waXpaper dispenser in place therein, and
Figure 4 is a crosssectional view, taken substantially in the plane of the line 4 4 in Figure 1 and showing a waxpaper dispenser in place in the holder.
Like characters of reference are employed to designate like parts in the specification and throughout the several views,
Referring now to the accompanying drawings in detail, the invention consists of a holder designated generally by the reference character lil, the same being intended for use in association with a dispenser or dispensing container ll of conventional type, containing a roll of waxpaper l2.
This container is usually of cardboard construction, being provided in one side thereof with a dispensing slot i3 and with a cutting edge I4, as will be clearly understood.
The holder lil embodies in its construction an elongated housing i5 formed from any suitable material, one end of the housing being closed as at IE, while its remaining end is open as at Il, so that the dispenser i i may be inserted into the housing through the open end of the latter.
One side of the housing l5 is formed with a longitudinally extending slot or opening I8, the same being open at one end thereof, namely, at the open end Il of the housing, and matters being so arranged that when the dispenser il is inserted in the housing, the slot I3 and the cutting edge ill o1 the dispenser will be disposed in the opening I8 of the housing, so that the dispensing of the paper I2 may be effected.
Means are provided for removably retaining the dispenser il in the housing i5, said means consisting of a resilient clip E9 secured to the housing i5, as at 2i, the clip lg including a flange 2l which serves to retain the dispenser il in its position in the housing. Needless to say, the clip E9 may be swung in the direction i of the arrow i2, so as to facilitate insertion or removal of the dispenser.
The entire holder may be secured to suitable supporting structure, such as for example, a kitchen cabinet by means of screws (not shown) inserted in suitable apertures 23 with which the holder is equipped.
lt is believed that the advantages and use of the invention will be clearli7 apparent from. the i .regoing disclosure, and accordingly, further description thereof at this point is deemed unnecessary.
While in the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having described the invention what is claimed as new 1s:
A holder for waxpaper dispensers, comprising an elongated dispenser receiving housing adapted for attachment to supporting structure and having an open end, said housing including a back wall and a front wall provided with a dispensing slot which extends longitudinally in said iront wall to said open end, and a resilient clip disposed eXteriorly of the housing and comprising an elongated back portion positioned against the rear surface of said back wall and having one end thereof secured to the latter, the remaining end of said back portion extending to the open end of said housing, and a forwardly eX- tending flange provided on said remaining end of said back portion, said ange projecting over the open end of the housing to retain a dispenser therein but being movable rearwardly beyond said back wall to facilitate removal of the stated dispenser.
