My present invention, in its broad aspect, hasI reference to improvements in adjustable shower baths which may be installed wherever there are hot and cold water facilities available and a waste water outlet, as for instance, a toilet comprising a closet bowl with waste connections. My invention enables a shower-bath to be installed over a toilet to utilize the waste water disposal facilities of the toilet for the purpose of draining waste water from the shower-bath basin or floor, and to utilize the hot and cold water-supply facilities of a hand basin adjacent the toilet for furnishing water to the shower-bath, and the tubular supports for the shower curtain may be adapted to be used as hot and cold water connections to the shower head. The frame of the cabinet (which may be designed for supporting curtains or the like) is preferably adjustable, and the shower floor is shiftable so as to be disposed over a toilet bowl or the like or removed therefrom. The shower head is adapted to be connected with any suitable water supply such as the tubular frame to receive hot and cold water, and the shower floor is provided with hooks or other appropriate fastening means to support the floor removably or shiftably on the frame. Swingable or rotating step devices are provided for stepping up to the shower floor. From the foregoing, it will be seen that I have provided a shower device which is not only adjustable in size, but can be set up where both shower bath and closet bowl facilities would otherwise not be expedient or available. Furtherrnore, the construction is such that the tubing of the shower frame may be used'for hot and cold water service connections, and the frame is sturdy, simple and relatively inexpensive to manufacture and install. The outlet of the showerbath floor utilizes the ordinary waste connections of the toilet bowl for disposal f shower-bath drainage.

Other and equally important objects and advantages of my invention will be apparent from the following detailed description and drawings, but it is pointed out that changes may be made in form, size, shape, construction and arrangement of parts, without departing from my broad inventive concept or the scope of the appended claim.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of my device; Figure 2 is a side View; Figure 3 is a top plan view; Figure 4 is a transverse section taken on the line 4-4 of Figure 2.

Figure 5 is a detailed, fragmentary view, partly in section, showing the water inlet connection, the connection for a support for the shower floor, and a View of one of the swingable steps;

Figure 6 is a section on the line -B of Figure 5, and shows the pin for holding the step in adjusted position;

Figure '7 is a view of the step lifted from engagement with the pin to be swung out of the way, and

Figure 8 is a section on the line 8-8 of Figure 2.

In the drawings wherein like characters of reference are used to designate like or similar parts throughout the several views:

The numeral l designates a conventional toilet installation having a flush tank 2 and a bowl 3 with a cover and 5 is a part of a hand basin or the like having a water connection 6. Any hot and cold water connections will suffice for my device, and one is shown in detail in Figure 5. The above p-arts are conventional installations and form no part of my invention.

My shower bath frame construction preferably includes four vertical frame members l. These may be tubular, and, to save pipe'and plumbing, one may be utilized as a hot water inlet and the other as a cold water inlet, or a connection 6 may be tapped into a coupling -see Figure 5 with a frame member l joined to the outlet so that tempered water from the supply pipes of the hand basin is led directly to the shower bath.

Each vertical frame member 'l has a foot 9 at its lower end, and a rectangular tubular frame at the top, formed with sectional tubular side bars lil coupled by threaded sleeves l l for adjustment, and the side bars It and l2 are joined by pipe fittings i3 to the tops of the vertical members l. A length of tubing ld is connected by a T l5 to one of the bars i2 to receive water, and deliver to the adjustable shower head I6. The curtain Il is hung by suitable rings I8 on the bars l0 and l2. Valves I9 and 2t may be provided in the vertical frame members 'l to regulate the y flow of water to the shower head i5.

The vertical frame members are placed around the toilet installation l. Lower frame members 2i are provided slightly higher than the closet bowl 3 to present a preferable supporting means for the floor of the shower-bath while in a Substantially horizontal position. The rear member 2| has adjustable sections joined by a threaded sleeve 22. Shower iloor 23 has fastening means such as hooked cross bars 2d to releasably keepthe floorinposition on its support. Bars 2li are removably engaged over members 2! and the shower floor is placed thereon with its drainage outlet swung back. The shower oor 23 is removable and may be shifted clear of the bowl when not in use, in which case the shower frame and curtain arrangement serve to enclose the toilet installation. Flexible connections may be used in place of pipe connections to the water supply.

I claim:

A shower device for use with a toilet installation and water service connections, comprising vertical and horizontal supporting members, enclosing a toilet bowl, a shower receptor carried by said horizontal members above the toilet bowl and having an outlet connection into the bowl; a pair of hooked cross bars secured to said receptor at two opposite sides thereof and adapted to releasably hook over said oppositely situated horizontal members so as to permit, at will, the disengagement and bodily removal of the receptor from the frame and toilet installation; or to permit hinge action between the hooked cross bars at either side of said receptor and a correspond# ing horizontal frame member engaged thereby.
