Description
Aug. 28, 1945. J. A. DEERFSUN I HA NGER FOR WEARING APPAREL Filed March 27. 1943 INVEN TOR.
Patented Aug. 28, 1945 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2,383,593 HANGER FOR WEARING APPAREL Joseph Almund Deerfsun, Coney Island, N. Y. Application March 27, 1943, Serial No. 480,729
1 Claim. (01. 223-91) My invention has for its object a new and useful hanger or suspension device for all kinds of wearing apparel for men, women or children.
It is the principal object of my invention to provide such a device which is entirely rustproof and has a pleasing appearance, as the suspension hook thereof, etc., embodies the representation of birds, such as for instance ducks, swans, geese, or the presentations of animals of other classes, as for instance horses, fish, dogs and the like.
It is another object of my invention to provide a hanger for wearing apparel generally which positively avoids the use of any metal parts, and
the construction of which is comparatively simple and inexpensive, yet durable and highly efficient in operation and use.
A further object of my invention is the provision of such a suspension device which simultaneously tends to keep the trousers in shape by preserving their creases and avoiding the formation of folds, as the trousers hang straight down from their cufis.
These and other objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be more pecifically defined in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawing forming a material part of this disclosure:
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a wearing apparel hanger constructed according to my invention.
Fig. 2 is a section on line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a sectional top elevation thereof.
As illustrated, the hanger for wearing apparel according to my invention consists of two main parts A and B preferably made of wood or similar material and homogeneously constructed, each part having its suspension hanger l made to represent the head of a bird, as for instance as shown a goose or duck or.any other kind of bird according to choice, or other animals such as horses, fish, dogs etc. The lower edges of parts A and B are held together by cords H and I2 respectively, so that the part may be moved closer together or farther apart as required. Intermediate their ends the parts are heldtogether pluralityof parallel rows of cords 20 from which article of clothing, as for instance as shown a necktie 2| may be suspended. The end of the board l'l, opposite the cords l8, I9 is somewhat bevelled, as at 22, and a cord 23 held in the opening of a cleat 24 or the like, holds the board I! looked against part A.
When unlocked, and turned about the cords l 8, l 9, a pair of pants 25 may be clamped at their cuffs between part A and'the board 11. In order to avoid the production of shiny places on the pants a piece of cloth or the like may be interposed between the boards and the pants. The rear part of part B is also provided with a plurality of parallel, spaced strings 26 from which articles of wearing apparel 21 may be suspended.
It will be understood that I have described and shown the preferred forms of my invention as a few examples of the many possible ways to practically construct the same, and that I may make such changes in the general arrangement and in the construction of the minor details of the invention as come within the scope of the appended claim without departure from the spirit of my invention and the principles involved.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A non-metallic suspension device for all kinds of wearing apparel comprising a bi-partite body, hangers formed therewith and having the shape of an animals neck and head, means to movably lock both parts of the body, and a board movably attached to said body by means of cords and equipped with a plurality of parallel, spaced rows of cords for the suspension of articles of wear.
JOSEPH ALMUND DEERFSUN.
