VIOLIN-BOW.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 236,449, dated January 11, 1881.
Application filed August 5, 1880.
To all trimm it may concern:
Be it known that I, IsAAO G. MONROE, ot Brooklyn, conntyot'King's, State ot' New York, haveinvented a new and uset'ul Improved Vinlin-Bow, which is fully set forth in the accompanyintr drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side view of my improved violin-bow; Fig'. 2, a central section of a portion thereof; Fig'. 3, a central View, showing' the manner ot' tightening' it.
The object of my invention is to facilitate the convenient transportation ot' violin-bows by reducing' their length at such times to permit of their being' contained in' a smaller space. This is accomplished by making' the bow in two parts, with provision for their being' readily and securely united at pleasure.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A violin-bow made in two sections and provided with means for uniting' and securing the same together, consisting' ot' a lap-joint, ferrule, and securing-nuts, all combined and arranged to operate substantially as set forth.
