DESIGN FOR A HORSE-COLLAR.

To all whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHESTER E. UProN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dardanelle, in the county of Yell and State of Arkansas, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Horse- Collar, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a new and original design for a horse-collar; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character which shall be both useful and ornamental.

The leading feature of the design resides in the continuous ovoidal band of an outwardlyflaring form, being set at an inclination throughout its entire perimeter and provided at opposite sides thereof, at an intermediate point between its top and bottom portions, with tapered ear extensions extending rearwardly'from the band and having straightbillets projecting therefrom.

A minor feature of the design is the continuous ovoidal band having upon its exterior, at the bottom thereof, an offstanding loop and similar loops upon diametrically-opposite sides of its contracted top portion.

Another minor feature is the ovoidal band being provided upon the outer surface thereof with a continuous superficial strip.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a horse-collar embodying the hereindescribed design. Fig. 2 is a front elevation thereof. Fig. 3 is a rear elevation of the same. Referring particularly to the drawings, the

numeral 1 designates the continuous collarband, which is looped into an approximatelyovoidal shape and is of an outwardly-flaring form, the said band being set at an inclination throughout its entire perimeter.

The ovoidal band 1 is provided upon the outer surface thereof with a continuous superficial strip 2, and is also provided upon its exterior, at the bottom thereof ,with an oifstanding pendent loop 3. In addition to the pendent loop 3 the ovoidal band 1 is further provided upon diametricallybpposite sides of its contracted top portion with the similar offstanding loops at.

To complete the design, the ovoidal collarband is provided at opposite sides thereof and at an intermediate point between its top and bottom portions with the rearwardly-extending tapered or triangular ear extensions 5, provided with straight billets G, projecting rearwardly therefrom. The said billets 6 are provided with scalloped tongues 7, lying upon the exterior faces of the ear extensions 5.
