Description

June 17, 1941. T E: 2,245,941
NONSLIP SHOULDER STRAP ATTACHMENT Filed Nov. 20, 1959 Snvcnfor Patented June 17, 1941 l T E STAT S @FlCE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to shoulder strap attachments, and specifically to attachments adapted to be secured to the shoulder straps which support the corset of the wearer.
Relative to female wearing apparel, corsets are generally supported by a pair of straps which engage the shoulders, and usually there are two or three additional straps which support under garments and also extend over the shoulders, and since these last named straps are not adequately attached to each other or to the corset-supporting straps, they often slide away from the shoulders and engage the arms or parts of the arms near the shoulders, also the straps often become bunched and form rolls on the shoulders, all of which cause discomfort to the wearer.
The object of the invention is to provide an attachment which will be convenient in use for preventing these straps from sliding away from. the shoulders and will maintain them in spaced relation at the shoulders to avoid the objectionable features mentioned.
The invention consists of the new and useful construction, combination and arrangement of parts as described herein and claimed, and as illustrated in the accompanying drawing, it being understood that changes may be made in form, size, proportions and minor details, said changes being within the scope of the invention as claimed.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 is a View showing the shoulder strap attachment applied to the wearer. Fig. 2 is a broken away plan view showing a combined holder and spacing-pin for the shoulder straps. Fig. 3 is a side View of the same taken on line 33 of Fig. 2- Fig. 4 is a sectional detail taken on line 44 of Fig. 3 showing the mounting of the herein described attachment on a spacing- Referring now to the drawing for a particular description, the invention is shown and described in connection with a corset 5 supported by a pair of straps B which extend over the shoulders, the ends being secured to the front and rear portions of a body-garment such as the corset or brassiere by any suitable means.
The invention is also described in connection with other straps which extend over the shoulders for supporting skirt-like garments, such as the pair of straps 1 which are secured at their ends by any suitable means to an undervest 8, the pair of straps 9 which support a slip l0 and pair of straps H which support a petticoat l2.
To prevent the straps from sliding from the shoulders and for preventing intertwining and formation of rolls on the shoulders they are maintained in spaced relation on the shoulders by use of a pair of spacing-pins l3 of loop-form, said pins being provided inwardly thereof with non-communicating stalls [4 at longitudinal intervals for receiving the several garment-supporting straps except the corset-supporting straps 6.
Numerals l5 indicate a pair of flexible controlstrips provided at their lower ends with suitable fasteners I6 adapted to be secured to opposed front parts of the corset or brassire, said strips being disposed in X-form position, and provided at their upper ends with loops I! for mountings upon the inner ends of the spacing-pins [3, said strips being secured together at their intersection, indicated at l8.
As thus described, since the upper ends of the control-strips l5 are secured to the straps 6 at or near the shoulders and are disposed in crossed relation the pins l3 will be prevented from slipping oif from the shoulders, and since the shoulder straps are held in spaced relation the objectionable rolls on the shoulders will be prevented.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a garment, the combination with a plurality of garment-supporting shoulder straps, a pair of spacing-pins of elongated loop-form each detachably secured to a shoulder strap and provided with non-communicating stalls at intervals for receiving other garment-supporting straps, and a pair of control-straps disposed in crossed relation each being secured at its lower end to the garment and secured at its upper end to a spacing-pin,
2. In a garment, a plurality of garment-supporting shoulder straps, a pair of spacing-pins of loop-form each detachably secured to a shoulder strap and provided with stalls at intervals thereof for receiving other garment-supporting straps, and means between and secured to the spacing-pins for preventing movements of the latter in directions outwardly from each other.
