IMPROVEMENT aN HEEL-SHAVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 2 12,654, dated February 25, 1879 application filed December 31, 1878.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, CHARLES H. BROWN, of East Bridgewater, in the county ofllymouth and State of hlassachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Heel- Shaves; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and-exact description thereof, reference being had to the aecompan ying drawings,`and to the letters of reference marked thereon,which form part of this specication.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a device for shaving heels on boots and shoes, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make handle opposite the edge of the knife, to regulate the depth of the cutting, said guard having slotted ends, with screws b b passing through them for securing the guard in position.
I also provide the guard C with an adjustable mouth-piece, D, fastened by means of screws h l1., passing through slots/i t' in the guard. This mouth-piece can. be set up as the knife is heilig ground down, so'as to keep the mouth closed all the time until the knife is worn ont. In the former case the more the knife is ground down the larger the mouth will be.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
lThe within-described heel-shave, consisting of handle A, knife B, adjustable guard C, and adjustable mouth-piece D, substantially as set forth.
