This invention appertains to toilets or water closets and more particularly to a novel attachmerit therefor, whereby the seats thereof can be rendered sanitary for each individual user, so as to prevent the transmission of disease.

One of the salient objects of my invention is to provide a novel means for dispensing covers for the seats of toiiet bowls in a roll form, whereby the covers can be readily drawn over the toilet seat in a convenient and expeditious manner, the covers being made of perishable paper so that the same can be flushed down the drain pipe after use.

Another important object of my invention is the provision of novel means for receiving and supporting the roll of seat covers, said means embodying a supporting bracket for detachable connection with the rear of the toilet seat and a casing connected therewith having a slot from which the covers can be drawn over the seat.

A further object of my invention is the provision of novel means for connecting the casing for receiving the roll of seat covers with the supporting bracket, whereby the casing can be moved and held in a horizontal position for dispensing the covers or to a vertical position at one side of the seat so that the same will be out of the way of the user of the toilet and to facilitate the refilling of the casing with the seat covers.

' A still further object of my invention is to provide a novel container for toilet seat covers of the above character which will be durable and efficient in use, one that will be simple and easy to manufacture and one which can be readily associated with any type of conventional toilet at a small cost.

A still further object of my invention is the provision of novel means for forming the blanks for the seat covers, whereby the sa will effec- "tively cover all parts of the seat, the blank elmbodying an oval-shaped tab, which is adapted to be pressed down into the to let in front or" the genital organs for effectively protecting the same.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel arrangement, construction and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more specifically described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Referring to the drawings in detail, wherein similar reference characters designate the corresponding parts throughout the several views, the letter A generally indicates my improved attachment and B a toilet with which the same can be associated.

The toilet B can be of any conventional character and embodies the usual bowl .0 having the pivoted seat 11 therefor.

My improved attachment A embodies a supporting bracket 15 including a horizontally disposed supporting plate 16 and a vertically disposed supporting arm or standard 1'7. The bracket 15 can be formed in a single piece of sheet metal or can be made from east material, if so desired. The upper end of the supporting standard 17 is provided with a struck-out tongue 18, for a purpose which will be later set forth. The base plate 16 can be provided with a longitudinally extending slot 19 which opens out one end of the plate and this slot is adapted to receive a fastening element 20, which extends into the seat 11 at the rear iereof and adjacent to one of its sides. By this construction so far, it can be seen that the bracket can be adjusted transversely of the seat so that the same can be properly disposed relative thereto.

The bracket 15 is provided for supporting the casing 21 which receives a roll 22 of individual seat covers 23. The casing 21 can be of a cylindrical form and is provided with a longitudinal slot 24 through which the seat covers are drawn. One end of the casing is provided with an ear 25 which is pivotally connected with the upper end of the arm or standard 17 by means of a pivot pin 26. If desired, this pivot can be in the nature of a screw having a winged thumb nut. The casing, when in its lowered position, is supported by means of the ear 25 contacting with the struck-out tongue 18 and thus, the proper hori zontal position of the casing is assured. The end of the casing remote from the ear 25 can be provided with a removable cap 27 so as to facilitate the placing of the rolls 22 within the casing. If preferred, the cap 27 and the opposite end of the Wall of the casing can be provided with axially disposed pins or lugs 28 for supporting the roll to facilitate the turning thereof, when a cover is drawn off of the same.

By my novel construction, the casing can be readily associated with an ordinary toilet and the casing can be moved to a raised vertical position at one side of the toilet out of the way of the user. By moving the casing to its vertical position, the same can be readily reloaded with a roll of the covers.

Obviously, with the use of my device the users of the toilet will be fully protected and the device is particularly susceptible for use in connection with public toilets.

By referring to Figure 5 of the drawings, it will be noted that each individual cover 23 is of a novel form and each of the same is of a substantia-lly oval shape in plan to conform to the shape of the toilet seat. The central portion of each cover is provided with a novel form of tab 30 which is adapted to be pressed into the toilet bowl. As shown, this tab is separated at its side and rear edges of the body portion of the cover by means of slits or cuts 31. The front portion of the tab is connected with the body portion' and remains connected to the body portion during the use of the cover. As shown, the tab embodies a relatively narrow front section 32 and a relatively wide rear section 33. The tab occupies substantially the entire central portion of the cover and when the same is pressed down into the toilet, assures an adequate protection for the genital organs. The covers can be separated one from the other by narrow tongues 34 and these tongues can be weakened at their point of connection by perforations or the like, so as to facilitate the tearing of one cover from another.

Changes in details may be made without departing from the spirit or the scope of this invention, but what I claim as new is:

1. An attachment for toilet seats comprising a supporting bracket, means for securing the bracket to a. toilet seat adjacent to the rear thereof, said bracket including a vertically disposed standard, an elongated casing, a roll of seat covers mounted within the casing, an arm connected to one end of the casing, a removable cap for the other end of the casing, means pivotally connecting the arm to the upper end of the standard whereby the casing can be moved to a raised vertical inoperative position or to a lowered horizontal position, and a struck-out tongue on the standard arranged in the path of the arm for holding the casing in its horizontal position.

2. The combination with a toilet seat, of a sanitary attachment therefor bracket including a base plate and an upright standard, said plate having a longitudinal slot, a fastening element disposed through the slot and into the rear of the seat adjacent to one side thereof, a casing having an arm at one end thereof, means pivotally connecting the arm with the upper end of the standard, whereby the easing can be moved to different positions, a struckout tongue on the standard arranged in the path of the arm for holding the casing in a horizontal position, and a removable cap for one end of the casing.
