IMPROVEMENT IN EGG-BEATERS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 192,157, dated June 19, 1877; application filed May 12, 1877.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, EUSTAGHE R. DULJE, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Egg-Beaters, which improvement is fully set forth in the accompanying specification and drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side and partly sectional elevation. The object of my invention is to produce a simple and easily-operated rotating or vibrating egg-heater, not liable to get out of repair, and that may be very readily cleaned after use.

The heaters A are composed of a series of bowed wires, forming an elliptic or ball shape the invention is not in the shape or number of these wireswhich are secured, by some suitable connection, to the revolving shaft B.

On the top of this shaft, by the pin 0, is secured a barrel, D, and coil-spring F, the

spring being made fast at its outer end to the inside of the barrel by the rivet S.

To the outside of this barrel is secured the cord G, to he wound up thereon; and when the cord is wound on this barrel the end is put through a hole, H, in the side of a case, K, sliding on the shaft B, and made to fit over the barrel and cord from below, and a handle, I, or ring is secured to the end of this cord, outside of the case; and when this case is put in position it is caught by the lugs 75,

catching into the notches r in the sleeve O on the shaft B, and to which sleeve the inner end of the spring is made fast, and the case and spring are thus locked together. The cap m is then put in place on the top, and is locked to the case by being turned under the lips n, or by some other convenient device.

In using, the case is taken in one hand and the handle in the other, and drawing upon the cord rotates the barrel, and with it the shaft and heaters, and on slackening the hand the spring reacts the heaters, and thus a rapid vibratory motion is secured, to act in a dish containing the eggs to be beaten. Therefore,
