Another object of the invention is to provide a bracket or holder for grenades comprising few parts and a structure thatcan be economically manufactured.
Further objects of .the invention will appear from the following specification taken in connection withthe drawing, which forms a part of this application, and in which Fig. 1 is an elevational view of a support constructed in accordance with the invention showing a grenade supported thereby; and

V p p The invention briefly described consists of a support for fire extinguisher grenades having means connected to a bracket or back plate for engaging and supporting the grenade. The particular supporting means illustrated consists of a saddle adapted to engage and support the grenade in a position against the bracket or back plate, fusible means being provided for releasing the grenade in caseof fire.
Further details of the invention will appear from the following description.
In the particular embodiment of the invention shown, the grenade supporting means consists of a back plate or bracket 10 and a saddle pivotally associated with the bracket and so shaped as to encircle the grenade and to support the grenade in a position against the back plate or bracket.

From the foregoing description and from the illustration in the drawing it will be clear that the grenade will be supported in such a manner that it will rest against the 559 back plate or bracket. In case of fire one or both of the fusible connections will melt,thus releasing the grenade which will drop and break. In case it is desired to throw the grenade at a fire the grenade can be lifted from the saddle or it can be grasped below the saddle and the saddle can be lifted there by releasing the grenade.
The term grenade is used throughout this specification to refer to a frangible container having a fire extinguishing fluid therein.
Although one specific embodiment of the invention has been particularly shown and described, it will be understood that the invention is capable of modification and that 75 changes in the construction and'in the arrangement of the various cooperating parts may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention, as expressed H in the following claims. 1. A support for fire extinguisher grenades comprising a bracket and a saddle carried thcreby,-said saddle being incapable per se of a supporting the grenade; said bracket and' saddle being engageable with the grenade and conjointly effective by such engagement to support the grenade, said saddle including a fusible portion connected to the bracket and efiective to release the grenade under the influence of heat.

A support for fire extinguisher grenades comprising a bracket and a saddle carried thereby, said saddle being incapable per se of supporting the grenade; said saddle being shaped and located to partially embrace and hold the grenade in engagement with the bracket, the saddle and bracket being conjointly effective by such engagement to support the grenade, said saddle including a comprisingabracket and a saddle carried thereby, said saddle being incapable per se 7 I of supporting the grenade; said bracket and saddle being engageable'with the grenade and conjointly efiective by, such engagement to support the grenade, said saddle including pivoted means and a heat controlled portion connected to the bracket and effective to release the grenade under'the influenceofheat.

A' support for'fire extinguisher grenades comprising a supporting member, and a saddle pivoted to said member on a substantially horizontal axis and arranged and positioned to partially encircle a grenadeand hold the grenade against sald member, said saddle including a fusible means arranged on destruction to render said saddle and supporting member incapable of supporting sald grenade. v
