Abstract
271,363. International Fire Equipment Corporation, (Assignees of Johnston, C. 0.). July 9, 1926, [Convention date]. Grenades; hand sprinklers.-A support adapted to release a frangible extinguisher in case of fire comprises a ring 18 which supports and embraces the grenade 15 and is connected to a second ring 13 by links 19, 20, of which the link 19 is pivoted to the ring 13 and the. link 20 is attached by a fusible sleeve 26. The ring 13 is hung on a bail 10 which is connected by a fusible sleeve 12 to an eye 11 for suspension on a ceiling-hook &c. In case of fire, the sleeve 12 iheets and the whole device falls, or the sleeve 26 melts first releasing the ring 18 so that the grenade falls out. In a modification, Fig. 4, an arm 30 having eyes 31, 32 for attachment to a wall &c., is connected by a fusible sleeve 41 to a ring 38 which supports the grenade. The upper end of the arm 30 is bent to form a spring arm 33 having a ring 35 which releasably engages the top of the grenade. In other modifications, the arm 30 is provided with depending legs, or with a flat ring, to steady it against the wall &c. on which it is supported.
