Abstract
521,283. Fire-extinguishing. CURTIS, B. A. Nov. 12, 1938, No. 32920. [Class 47 (ii) ] An extinguishing device, particularly for incendiary bombs comprises an inner container 10 formed of paper or similar material which is readily frangible, and/or combustible and preferably, is moisture-proof, and filled with a powdered or granular extinguishing agent, and an outer container 11 of fabric or the like which -is cut away to expose substantial areas of the inner container. The outer container has straps 13 with a suspension ring 14. The devices may be thrown upon a fire, or may be suspended by fusible links in dangerous locations. Several devices may be suspended by hooks 16 in bends 18 of a telescopic rod 17, 19. The rod may be held in an inclined position and the devices allowed to slide singly on to a fire 20. A heatresisting shield may be provided at the end 21 of the rod.
