IMPROVEMENT IN HAME-FASTENERS.
Specification formingipart of Letters Patent No. 188,072, dated March 6, 1877 application filed January 6, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, TUNIS H. POLAND, of Farmersville, in the county of Collin and State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Improvement in flame-Fasteners, of whichthe following is a specification:
Figure 1 is a front view of my improved hame fastener, showing, in dotted lines, the position of the hames. Fig 2 is aplan view of the fastener.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of this invention is to furnish an improved device for securing hames upon the collar, which shall be simple in construction and convenient and reliable in use, holding the hames securely, and being easily fastened and unfastened.
The invention consists in a hame-fastener, comprising a pair of plates and a set of graduated links, as will be hereinafter more-fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.
A is a short metal strap or bar, upon one end of which is formed a hook to receive the hame-loop. Upon the other end of the strap or bar A is formed an eye to receive a set of three (more or less) links or loops, B, which are graduated or made of different lengths, so that a longer or shorter link may be used, according as the hames are placed upon a larger or smaller collar. 0 is a metal strap or bar, upon one end of which is formed an eye or hook to receive the hame-loop. Upon the other end of the strap or bar G is formed a hook, to be hooked into one or another of the links B, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
This fastening can be readily fastened and unfastened without taking off the gloves, and with cold and benumbed fingers, and when fastened will hold the hames securely.
Having thus described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The improved fastener for hames herein described, consisting of the strap or bar A, having an eye upon its inner end, the set of graduated links B, and the strap or bar 0, having a hook upon its inner end, substantially as herein shown and described.
TUN IS HAYWOOD POLAND.
