` This inventionrelates to portable cases for toilet articles and the like. e

One of the objects thereof is to provide a practical device of the above nature of simple and compact construction. Another object is to provide a device of the above nature characterized by eiiicient action and convenience in'use. Other objects are tov provide a device of the above nature which shall be readily adaptable to various numbers and types of articles, which shall hold them securely and yet in a readily accessible position and which shall so dispose of them as to economize space. Other objects will be in Q part obvious or in part pointedv out'hereinafter. e l Y v The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combinations of elements and arrangements of parts,all as vwill 1 be illustratively described herein, and the scope of the application of which willbe indicated in the following claims.

It will be seen, furthermore, that there is no tendency for the articles to slip out of the case either when the casing is open or closed and that the construction is simple and strong and not adverselyrafi'ected by hard practical use.

4. ln a portable hollow case for implements of varying size and contour, in combination, a plurality of complementary sections each comprising a bottom, sides and unequal ends and each of progressively increasino depth and the average depth of one being greater than the av-erage depth of the other, said sections being elongated in the direction of tieir variation in depth and being shaped to form a parallelogram when in closed position with t ieir open ends together, said sections being connected to permit them to swing about an axis substantially parallel to their bottoms and being shaped to rest side by side upon a supporting surface with their open ends upward.

In a portable hollow case for implements of varying size and contour, in combination, a plurality of sections, each having a substantially flat bottom and lateral walls shaped and held to embrace a space and each tapering in depth transversely, holding means in each of said sections adapted to support articles of dii'ferent shapes in position to be removed endwise in a direction away from the bottom, and means connecting said sections one to the other to permit them to be placed in a position side by side with their bottoms resting upon the same supporting surface. y

6. ln a portable hollow case for implements of varying size and contour, in combination, a plurality of sections, each comprising a pair of end walls and a continuous cover member extending about all of said end walls and secured thereto at their side edges and spaced thereby and forming a hinge whereby the sections may be swung into a closed position with their open ends together and into an open position in which they rest side by side upon a supporting surface, and means adapted to secure in place the free end of said cover member and thereby hold said 7.' A receptacle for containing a variety of articles for personal use'vdtlering as to size and contour, and a member'in said receptacle so shaped as to provide a plurality 'of compartments directed toward the open end lof the receptacle and formed of Vamaterial of suchl characteristics .as to permit easy ,deformation thereof to change the` size' and shape of the dinerent compartments and to retain the form into which it is bent, said receptacle being of varying depth in the direction of one ofitstransverse dimensions, and said holding member being removably mounted therein and formed of a sheet of varying depth to form said compartments of a depth substantially proportional to the depth of the receptacle at the point at whichv such compartment is positioned.

In a portable hollow case for implements of varying size and contour, in combination, a plurality of hollow sections, each provided with an open end, connected to swing into a position side by side with their open ends exposed and to swing into a closed position with their open ends together, said openings being of substantially the same size and shape and adapted substantially to register with, the case in closed condition holding means in each of said sections yadapted to support articlesV of different sizes and shapes in position to slide toward said open ends, and a movable partition between said open ends with the case in closed condition adapted to prevent thev articles inV each section from sliding into the other section.

l1. ln a portable hollow case for implements of varying size andcontour, in combination, a plurality of hollow sections, each provided with an open end, connected to swing into a position side by side with their open ends exposed and to swing into a closed position with their open ends together, said openings being of substantially the same size Y and shape and adapted substantially to register with the case in closed condition holding means in each of said sections adapted to support articles of diiferent sizes and shapesV in position to slide toward said `open ends, and a movable partition between said open ends with the case in closed condition adapted to prevent the articles in each section from sliding into the other section, said sectionsv being of progressively increasing depth in the direction of one of their transverse dimensions, and said partition having a swinging connection upon the case.

12. In a portable hollow case for implements of `varying size and contour, in combination, a plurality of hollow sections, each comprising a, pair of end walls and a bottom ormedof metal and a Continuous non-metal` liocover member extending about ASaid bot toms and secured to said end walls to provide a connection whereby said sections may be swung with respect one to the other, and means adapted to secure the free end of said non-metalliccovermember to another portion thereof to hold the casein closed` condi'- 10 tion with the open ends ofthe sections together.
