A container 13 has a compartment 1 for a containing a match box 3 and a compartment 2 for concealing the locking means. A carrier 4 for the match box 3 is movable in and out of the container 13 and is provided with a handle 14;. Means are provided for locking the carrier 1 within the container 13. An
eye 5 is attached to the inner end of the carrier 4 and a spring latch 6 is provided for locking and holding the carrier'within the container 13. The latch 6 has a shank 7 which operates through a guide 8 which is rigidly attached to the support 15 which is'attachedrigidly to the container .13. The latch 6'is provided with a knob 10 for depressing the latch 6 for releasing the same from the eye 40 5 and carrier 4:. An opening 11 is made in the side, of the container 13 for inserting a finger for depressing the knob 10. A curved tubular passage 12 is provided for inserting and extending a finger to the knob 10. - What I claim, is, I 1. A match box comprising a receptacle and a carrier removably mounted therein, ,amatch container mounted in. said container mount-- ed in said carrier, an eye attached to the end of said carrier, a manually operable spring latch secured to the interior of said receptacle and concealed therein, said receptacle having I. an opening in the side thereof, and a tubular.
