The wall shown in Fig. 2 is the same as that shown in Fig. l, except that a channel member g is inserted to provide balanced ramming and forthe accommodation of structural members. In this case the wall can be closed towards the rear by an iron plate h,
but this is unnecessary in most instances.

A sheet piling wall of box formation comprising spaced rows ot metal plates, I-sections interposed between said rows, jointing means integral with the plates of one row to provide close-tltting connections between said plates, and jointing means integral with the plates of the other row permitting relative movement in the longitudinal direction of the wall.
4. A sheet piling wall of box formation ycomprising spaced rows of metal plates, I-
sections interposed between said rows, a channel member inserted in one r-ow, .jointing means integral with the plates of one row to provide closetitting Vconnections between said plates, and jointing means integral with ther plates of the other row permitting relative movement in the longitudinal direction ot the wall.,
