Myinvention relates to that class of devices known as saw horses or saw-bucks; and the nature thereof consists in certain improvements in the construction of the same, hereinafter shown and described.
In the accompanying plate of drawings, in which corresponding parts are designated by the same letters Figure l is a view of a saw-buck having my improvements applied thereto. Fig. 2 shows the relative arrangement of the parts when a small stick of wood is placed upon the buck. Fig. 3 designates a coupling, which may be made use of for connecting the treadlerod with the clamping-rod.
A designates a saw-buck of the ordinary construction. B is a horizontal rod secured to the forward legs of the buck, upon which is hung the looped ends of the treadle G. D is a second treadle, pivoted by means of looped ends to the treadle O. E is the clamping-rod, which may be hinged to the second treadle in any convenient manner.
In Fig. l the hooked end of the clampingrod is passed over a large-sized stick of wood, in which case the foot is pressed upon the treadle O. In Fig. 2 the hooked end of the clampingrod is placed over a stick of small size, in which case the foot is pressed upon the treadle D.
I claim- A clamping attachment for saw-bucks, con-' sisting of the rod B, treadles O and D, and hooked rod E, combined as and for the purposes described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 4th day of January, 1: 76.
