Figure 3 discloses the inner box section in blank form, and
Figure -t-is a sectional view taken on line t-tof Figure 1.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the box includes a bottom section 5 and a cover section (5, which sections are identical in construction, and formed preferably of cardboard or the like material.
Positioned. within the bottom section 5 is a rectangular section 7, which is of a width equal to the combined widths of the side walls of the bottom section 5 and cover section (3, as clearly shown by Figure 1 of the drawing.
The lining of the box is formed preferably of thin paper and is stamped or otherwise formed into a blank as indicated by t Figure 3 of the drawing, the lining includ- 1923. Serial no. 629,673.
ing a bottom section 9 and side sections 10, each section 10 being provided with a lip 11 so that when the sides 10 are folded upwardly to conform to the contour of the box as shown by Figure 1 of the drawing,
the lips may be bent downwardly over the upper edges of the sections 7 to secure the lining in position.
The lining retaining section is indicated generally by the reference character 12 and or other pulverized material from passing from the box at points between the bottom section and cover section, or between the adjacent ends of the side walls of the box.
What is claimed as new is In a powder box, a rectangular body portion including a cover section and a bot-tom section of like construction, a rectangular inner section of a width equal to the combined widths of the cover section and bot.- tom section, a lining of paper material titted within the inner section and having side sections cont acting with the inner section, lips at the ends of the side sections and bent over the upper ends of the inner section to hold the lining in position, said lips, being held between the inner section and cover section, a lining retaining member having side sections engaging the side sections of the lining to hold the lining in position, and inwardly extended lips formed. at the free ends of the side sections of the lining retaining member to guard the upper portion of the box.
