This invention relates to tobacco pipes of the type comprising a bowl, a detachable mouthpiece, and an inner tube mountedin said mouthpiece and adapted to project the bowl, the tube being of such a diameter as to fit the normal smoke passage of the -The object of my invention is to provide an improved tobacco pipe of thistype which will be hygienic and easily cleanable and comprises'the combination of 'a device here' inafter described and defined in the appended claim.1l

The improved pipe shown is built up of a bowl ae, a stem b, and a detachable mouthpiece c. The joining ends of the stem and mouthpiece are so fashioned that the-mouthpiece will extend into the stem a suflicient distance to unite them, the end f of the stem abutting against the shoulderv g on the mouthpiece. In use, as soon as the tobacco is burned, the smoke passes into the glass tube without coming into 'Contact' with Aany wooden vor 50 other portion of theY pipe except the bowl, and thence issues into the mouthpiece. addition to the advantage of conveying the e() single glass tube-extending from the bowl to the recess inthe mouthpiece, a taperedfcork surrounding the glass tube at one end and adapted to connect the glass tube to the mouthpiece, the enlarged end of said tapered y cork lying in the recess of the stem, whereby no nicotme or other extraneous matter can l be collected in the smoke passage.
